Gut: Sauberkeit, Personal & Service und Zustand der Unterkunft
We stayed overnight and ate in the restaurant. All rather hit & miss.
Room was clean & comfortable. The problem was it was poorly ventilated & very stuffy with no air con - a fan helped but it was still difficult to sleep. Not helped by being unable to turn off the bathroom light - I guess it used a motion sensor but it was a good 10 minutes before the light went off. Tended to disturb sleep after visiting the bathroom at night.
Much the same with dinner. The langoustine starter was virtually tasteless. The tomato sauce tasted of nothing …
We had to ask for the wine to be served 3x .…
The main courses were very good. My pork chop was the best pork I’ve ever tasted. My wife’s fish was also very good but the veg for both of us was, for our taste, was over cooked.
Then dessert - we ordered Tarte au Citron. What came to the table was not lemon tasting but we ate it. Commented as we left - turned out we were served pear tart. Quite nice but not lemon. The chef was very apologetic. Gave us a Calvados each and a small portion of Tarte au Citron which was excellent. A pity we didn’t get it for dessert.
So, hit and miss - some good or very good, others need improvement.
Also an excellent overnight stop as it’s 5 mins off the autoroute.
