« River’s Bend was one of our favorite western VA cabin stays to date. Its location is unique - remote enough for dark skies and the sounds of wildlife, with the thrill of the train when it makes its way through the tunnel under the property. « We had a great stay in New Castle. The house is located right of the main road but, it still felt private and secluded. The amenities outside really made this location. Great areas to relax and enjoy nature. There is an adorable coffee shop in town that serves breakfast and lunch. Roanoke is a 40 minute drive from town. I traveled with my elderly father so, we did not hike any of Jefferson National Forests. We are hoping to travel back in when it’s warmer to the joy the property and area more. »

« The Jackson River Estate was the perfect getaway for our 2025 Family Reunion. The estate is very spacious and provides magnificent views. There is river access but the water is cold. The pool and slide were a big hit! Cole’s Point (beach), the humpback bridge and waterfall were super close and great excursions. This location is great for families that like to be outdoors

« We celebrated our 50th anniversary with our children and grandchildren. Stacy our host was very helpful and responsive. Hillcrest is well located, absolutely beautiful, the accommodations were amazing with beautifully appointed bedroomscand bathrooms.the kitchen has two of everything! « Everything about this property was just as advertised. Clean, comfortable, cozy, peaceful, and private. Really had everything you would need for a multi-day stay. Having a rack of free firewood was the icing on the cake. We spent hours sitting by the firepit enjoying the fall scenery and watching the cows stroll around across the road.
