« Booked six months in advance. Hoast cancelled the night before after confirming in email. Reason was cross platform booking. So the host and VRBO had us scrambling for other accommodations at the last minute. This was a memorial weekend for my deceased daughter’s birthday. Wholly unacceptable »

« We had a wonderful stay at Smith Mountain Lake! The home was spacious and inviting, and access to the water was great! We rented a Pontoon boat for the week from Indian Point Marina. The beds were soft and cozy, and we slept really well. The kitchen was well appointed and made family meal time enjoyable. The decks and views were so relaxing. The mature trees provided shade for the outdoor space without obstructing the view. Just the right amount of privacy! We will definitely stay here...

« We had originally booked the studio apt for Jan 9 to visit an elderly parent - a family emergency came up and we had to move our visit to as soon as possible - the owner kindly allowed us to transfer the booking to an earlier date, the 5th (the day after my distressed call) at the cottage instead so other family members could stay as well. Owner is not local, so apparently did not know that the cottage was not quite prepared for guests- it was clean, but not stocked and had some repairs going...
