Im Ikara Safari Camp haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Einzigartiger Ausblick, die Ruhe und der Blick waren überwältigend. Gute Auswahl an Speisen im Restaurant. Früh frühstücken gehen!

Unbedingt ein Safari-Zelt ausprobieren!
Unsere zwei Übernachtungen im Safari-Zelt waren einfach toll. Es war mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt. Da es nachts sehr kühl wurde, konnte man die Klimaanlage auf heizen umstellen. Die Ruhe mitten im Wald, der Besuch von Känguru's frühmorgens, schöne Walking Trails; für uns hat alles gepasst. Frühstück sehr gut.

Alles schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und es hätte sauberer sein können. Das Frühstück ist völlig überteuert, die Gerichte am Abend waren ok.

Sehr schöner Nationalpark mit großartiger Natur
Die Reisezeit von Dezember bis Februar ist absolute Nebensaison. Das hat zwar den Vorteil, dass nur wenig Leite im Resort sind, allerdings sind auch sämtliche schwierigen Hikes wegen der Hot Saison geschlossen. Somit bleiben nur wenige Wanderungen übrig. Sehrempfehlenswert sind die Scenic Flights bzw. die geführten 4WD Touren. Die 4WD sollte man nur mit einen Allrad-Fahrzeug mit großer Bodenfreiheit machen und der Fahrer sollte bereits einige Erfahrung mit rauem Gelände haben.

Wilpena Pound Resort is legendary for a reason. It's in an amazing location, with a wealth of different accommodation options. We stayed in the 'safari' tents, which exceeded my expectations. As it was peak summer, with temperatures reaching 40 degrees, it was a huge relief to come back to an air-conditioned room, with access to a high quality bathroom.

Had a very good stay but it’s worth noting that in February not all trips etc will be running so if there’s something special you want to do check before you book. The restaurant serves good meals but they are on the large size

Third time we have stayed here. Standards are slipping. Ate in restaurant three times. Each time meat and bread was tough and burned to a crisp- charred and black hamburger patties, black/burned hamburger rolls and toast, burned parmi- our kids refused to eat them. Chef obviously doesnt care anymore. Accomodation suite has a kitchenette but no washing up liquid, wash cloth/scourer or teatowels are supplied - are we supposed to bring our own now? Smoking area is located between the pool and the restaurant/bar. So you're constantly breathing in cigarette smoke while in the pool, and you have to wade through cigarette smoke when going to the bar or restaurant to get a drink or snack. From about 4pm onwards resort staff sit in the smoking area and drink and chain smoke for hours. Its unbearable and made the pool unusable. Unhealthy and not good enough in 2024. We won't be back.

Relaxing and comfortable stay in a family safari tent. Unfortunately the outdoor light didn’t work and the heating was very noisy, which made it difficult for our kids to stay asleep. Otherwise, clean and tidy. The resort itself is well maintained and a great experience of camping with all the creature comforts you could ask for!

This was our first glamping experience and we highly recommend it to others. The setting is so beautiful with emus and kangaroos around us. The tours with John and Malcolm were incredible, sharing their knowledge and experiences with us so openly. We felt very privileged. Resort staff were knowledgeable, could answer any question and gave great recommendations to help us have a very memorable stay. The dinner options were excellent - with 4 dinners organised, we were a bit unsure if it would feel the same every night. Great menu with lots of different options so we never ate the same meal. They were all delicious. Solar heating for the pool might extend the use. Bar snacks (packet chips etc) when the bar is open would be a good way to keep people fueled. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay.

Magnificent location, but 5 star prices for a one star motel. Staff indifferent/unhelpful. False advertising - the room is very basic, with a terribly bad bed, TV the size of a postage stamp, and all for the cost of a 5 star hotel in Sydney. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

Lovely bush location in middle of national park. Motel room is okay and includes a good sized fridge and a kettle. No microwave in room, which was very annoying. Can park right out front of room. Convenient to have included continental and cooked buffet breakfast in the restaurant. Restaurant menu was good if an omnivore but not if vegetarian/vegan, and menu not flexible for individual dietary requirements. Overall rooms are over priced for what you get - obviously paying for location.

We had a great stay for three nights. The walks were great and well signposted once on the track. I think some signage from the resort of where to get to the walks would be beneficial. We were a little confused from the map supplied. The gentleman at the tourist info was not very engaging and did not supply great information at the beginning of our stay. The staff at the resort were very friendly and engaging. They were polite and well mannered. Being a coeliac it would have been nice to see breakfast items labelled gluten free. No lactose free milk but I was supplied nut milks which were great. We bought some of our own food so it would have been great to see some plates, bowls and cutlery in the rooms. We researched that BBQ’s were available but they definitely need an upgrade and perhaps one of them closer to the resort. Thanks so very much for hosting us. The rooms were well maintained and clean.

Property is great except that there is literally nothing to do in bad weather. It rained while we were so our tour was cancelled. They need to provide some indoor/wet weather alternatives when this happens. Kids were so bored.
