Built in 1871 as one of the country's first purpose-built cottage hospitals, the house suits families and groups of friends looking for a coastal holiday combining walking, beaches, and harbour life. The South West Coast Path runs through Fowey, leading to Readymoney Cove (1 mile) and on towards Gribbin Head (3 miles on foot) through coves, woodlands, and grassland rich in wildflowers. A ferry crosses the water to Polruan (4.5 miles if going by car), where houses line winding streets above the harbour. Whitehouse Beach (1 mile) and Polkerris Cove (3 miles) are among nine beaches in and around Fowey. The Saints Way Trail provides an inland route through the Cornish countryside, while back in the town, the harbour fills with fishing boats and the streets offer independent shops, galleries, and waterside restaurants.


This split-level house has its living spaces on the first floor, where triple-aspect windows frame the estuary. The open-plan sitting room has a wood burner, two large sofas, and a TV. The south-east-facing gardens sit in an elevated position above the property, with an outdoor dining area for six to eight and a BBQ. The gardens are reached via steps from the house. Access to the water is via a slipway approximately 450 metres down the road. Private parking is available for one car.
