  • CROSS CREEK CABIN - PRIVATE REDWOOD RETREAT

    Escape to Cross Creek Cabin, a traditional, family-built Humboldt County mountain home nestled among towering redwoods near Redway, California. Situated on approximately 20 private acres with two year-round creeks, this secluded retreat offers an authentic Northern California experience, combining rustic mountain character with comfortable Purple mattresses, an adjustable massage bed, and a private 100-inch movie theater.

    This genuine rural home has family history, character, and unique features. We want guests to know what to expect so they can relax, settle in, and enjoy everything that makes Cross Creek Cabin special.

    TWO CREEKS, REDWOODS & 20 PRIVATE ACRES

    The natural surroundings are the heart of Cross Creek Cabin.

    Listen to flowing water, enjoy towering redwoods, and follow the lighted trail toward the creek. The property features approximately 20 private acres of Humboldt County forest with two year-round creeks.

    Spend your mornings enjoying fresh mountain air, afternoons exploring nature, and evenings relaxing beneath the trees.

    This is a natural forest environment rather than a landscaped vacation property. Guests may encounter wildlife, insects, uneven terrain, changing weather, and the normal sights and sounds of rural mountain living.

    Children and pets must be supervised around creeks, trails, and wildlife.

    COMFORTABLE BEDROOMS & MASSAGING CALIFORNIA KING BED

    The cabin features two bedrooms, three beds, and one bathroom.

    Sleeping accommodations include two California king beds with Purple mattresses and an additional queen bed.

    The upstairs primary bedroom features an adjustable Purple California king bed with:

    * Fully reclining positions
    * Built-in massage settings
    * Under-bed lighting
    * USB charging ports

    After exploring Humboldt County, settle into a comfortable bed, enjoy a relaxing massage, and unwind surrounded by the peaceful forest.

    Bedroom televisions are available. Some bedroom lamps and electrical outlets operate using wall switches near the doors.

    YOUR OWN 100-INCH MOVIE THEATER

    One of the cabin’s most enjoyable features is its private movie-theater experience.

    The living room includes a 100-inch projector screen, Roku streaming device, lighted sound bar, and large reclining sectional.

    Stretch out, relax, and enjoy your favorite movies or streaming services.

    IMPORTANT - THE LIVING ROOM USES A PROJECTOR SYSTEM, NOT A CONVENTIONAL TELEVISION.

    To watch, guests must turn on the projector, select the correct HDMI input, allow the Roku home screen to load, and use the Roku remote to select their streaming service.

    The sound bar operates separately.

    This entertainment system offers a wonderful large-screen experience but requires a few more steps than an ordinary television.

    Detailed written instructions and photographs are provided in the house guide. Guests should review these instructions before operating the equipment.

    A TRADITIONAL, FAMILY-BUILT HUMBOLDT COUNTY HOME

    Cross Creek Cabin reflects the character and practical craftsmanship of traditional Humboldt County mountain living.

    Built by our family, the home was designed for its rural surroundings and has its own history, personality, and unique operating features.

    The cabin combines comfortable modern amenities with traditional construction and independent household systems.

    Some fixtures, appliances, and electrical outlets operate differently from those in newer suburban homes.

    Guests who appreciate authentic mountain homes, peaceful surroundings, and the character of rural living will find plenty to enjoy here.

    Detailed instructions help guests become familiar with the home’s features.

    NATURAL SPRING WATER & HOUSEHOLD SYSTEMS

    Cross Creek Cabin receives its water from a natural spring-water system rather than a municipal water supply.

    This is one of the special features of traditional Humboldt County mountain living.

    WATER CONSERVATION IS ESSENTIAL.

    Guests are asked to use water responsibly, avoid unnecessary waste, and immediately report leaks, running fixtures, or unexpected changes in water pressure.

    The home also features an on-demand hot-water system and a portable dishwasher.

    The bathroom shower operates using a tub-spout diverter. To activate the shower, rotate the ring on the bathtub spout counterclockwise and pull downward until it locks into place.

    Some electrical outlets are GFCI-protected and may require resetting if tripped.

    Instructions and photographs for these features are included in the house guide.

    COZY COMFORTS & THOUGHTFUL AMENITIES

    Although Cross Creek Cabin is an authentic rural mountain home, it offers comfortable amenities for a relaxing stay.

    IMPORTANT - RURAL LOCATION & DAYLIGHT ARRIVAL

    PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING.

    Cross Creek Cabin is located in a secluded rural mountain setting near Redway, California.

    Redway is a small community with limited restaurants, shopping, and services. Surrounding roads may be narrow, winding, steep, and poorly illuminated.

    Please purchase groceries, fuel, and other necessities before arriving.

    The private driveway is steep, and AWD or 4WD vehicles are strongly recommended, especially during wet weather.

    Guests enter through a green cattle gate, continue along the private driveway, cross a small bridge, and follow the road toward the cabin.

    FIRST-TIME GUESTS ARE REQUIRED TO ARRIVE DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS.

    This allows guests to become familiar with the gate, bridge, driveway, and surrounding terrain before dark.

    Detailed arrival instructions are provided before check-in.

    PROTECTING THE CREEKS & PEACEFUL ENVIRONMENT

    Cross Creek Cabin is intended to be a peaceful place to enjoy nature.

    To protect the property and surrounding environment:

    * No smoking anywhere on the property
    * No outdoor fires
    * No glass, alcohol, or chemicals in or around the creeks
    * No loud outdoor music or yelling
    * Respect wildlife and natural vegetation
    * Supervise children and pets near creeks and trails
    * Conserve spring water
    * Follow gate and driveway instructions

    Sound travels easily through the surrounding creek and valley, so we ask guests to respect the peaceful atmosphere.

    PET-FRIENDLY REDWOOD ADVENTURES

    Pets are welcome at Cross Creek Cabin!

    Your four-legged family members can enjoy the fresh mountain air and natural surroundings with you.

    Please supervise pets outdoors, especially around wildlife, moving water, and uneven terrain.

    Guests are responsible for their pets and maintaining the cleanliness of the property.

    TRASH REMOVAL & CHECKOUT

    Because Cross Creek Cabin is located in a rural mountain area, conventional guest trash collection is not available.

    Guests are responsible for taking their trash to the local Redway transfer station before departure.

    The transfer station is normally closed Wednesdays and Thursdays, so please plan accordingly and review the current schedule in the house guide.

    A $50 trash removal fee applies if trash is left behind.

    Detailed disposal and checkout instructions are provided.

    HOUSE GUIDE - PLEASE REVIEW

    We provide a detailed house guide with written instructions and photographs to help guests become familiar with the home.
