Modern Zen Chalet at the Foot of Gunks w Mt. View and barrel outside sauna

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space at the foot of the Shawangunk Mountains. Submerged in the peaceful foresty side of the mountain, this house with huge picture windows in all rooms helps you to connect with nature and exhale from hectic life. Large natural stone outside porch is great to enjoy the fire with friends. We have a newly built barrel sauna on the porch. House is located on the side of the Minnewaska State Park with close proximity to the Park and the trails. Millbrook Ridge with its famous Gunks rock climbing routes is visible from the windows.

This house is a true gem which was recently fully renovated and professionally decorated. It feels like a mini retreat center in the mountains. The interior design layout is an open concept modern living room - dining area - kitchen. Living room is equipped with two super comfortable couches that are great for friends’ gathering to enjoy a board game or a movie on an oversized 110" projector screen. We have a high definition XGIMI Horizon home theater projector equipped with the fire TV stick connection to access youtube, prime, netflix etc. All rooms including bedrooms have large picture windows with a great nature view. It feels as if you are sleeping on tree tops!

The house is located in direct view of the Gunks when leafs are off the trees. In fact you can see one of the most iconic climbing routes of the world the famous "Nectar Vector" from the windows !

The house was fully renovated in Dec 2023 and set up specifically for guests by a highly experienced airbnb host. We have thought about every little detail for the guests: comfortable fresh linens, towels, incense, tea candles, natural body products, high quality tea, coffee and more. House sleeps 2 couples very comfortably and 3 couples for maximum occupancy of 6 people. For the maximum occupancy guests can use reclinable sofa bed and two additional dining chairs.

There are abundance of local coffee shops and great restaurants around as New Paltz is about 15 mins and Gardiner Main Street is about 5 mins drive away. Hike in the Minnewaska State Park, enjoy the nature and all the best that Hudson Valley can offer.

Entire house and patio is for the guests to enjoy. We have enough parking for 3 cars.

The house has keyless entry locks so I do not have to be there to let you in. However, I am available via airbnb messenger and/or phone

Outside firepit
We currently do not provide firewood for the guests so please bring your own firewood to make fire outside. We also have fire ban from 15th of March to 15th of May.

Water quality
Water in our area is known to have a lot of minerals due to rock formations (Shawangunks mountains). We do have a private well and fully functional water treatment system which is maintained by professional water service company. Water is safe to drink and quality is checked periodically. Said that water can smell like minerals including Sulphur. It is absolutely safe and we used to this feature of the local water long time ago.

Wildlife and insects
We live in the country surrounded by a lot of forest. Wildlife is present. This might include beavers, racoons, snakes, bears and insects. We do have screens on the windows and doors but insects will still be entering the space no matter how much we want to keep them out.

Fireplace
FIreplace is operational during heating season which is mid of October to mid of May.
