« Always love staying here, location and facilities are waaaayyyy above average! »

« Great place for our UP adventure. Loved how close the house was to Lake Superior coastline, and the place served as a great ‘home-base’ during our activities and travels. We had 4 adults, so the bed situation was fine. Could’ve used AC during our stay given the heat, but it was peak summer. The downstairs toilet is a trip to behold. Consider this a 1.25 bathroom property :) »

« House was exactly as advertised, clean and comfortable and with everything you need. Sandy was responsive and helpful and I’d recommend staying here to anyone. It’s a good base for the Ottawa National Forest as well as the Porcupines. »

« Absolutely stunning cabin with beautiful decor and finishes. Cabin has access to a sandy beach on Lake Superior and a short drive to the Porcupine Mountains. Host was very easy to communicate with. Definitely recommend! »

« Loved our stay in The Lighthouse. Needed to extend to an additional night and the hosts were very accommodating and helpful. Highly recommend! »

« Loved the big kitchen, huge deck and outside area. Everybody loved rock hunting on the beach. »

« This was a great place to stay as we hiked the traphills on the north country trail! The large entry room was a great location for all of our hiking gear. Having the bar next door for a quick drink or food helped after a long hiking day too. »

« This is an older property that's well kept up. The main bathroom is large and very nice - great if you have a group of women getting ready at the same time! We didn't go downstairs at all so cannot speak for those amenities but the rest of the house was comfortable. We needed 3 bedrooms so this worked out great for us. »

« Our family group of four had a delightful time at this Ontonagon property. Really cool floor plan, clean, updated with all the amenities in kitchen and living areas. And we enjoyed mornings and evenings on the enclosed front porch. A short walk to Lake Superior, a short drive to Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park (highly recommend the Escarpment and Presque Isle River loop hikes) and a worth-the-trip drive to Houghton (highly recommend the Quincy Mine tour). Will hope for a repeat...

« Great communication by owner. We enjoyed our stay in this spacious rustic house laid out so everyone has some space to spread out. Very secluded. Wonderful snowy weekend. Easy access to Houghton. We felt relaxed after splitting some wood and spending some time in the sauna, complete with running barefoot into the snow. Would recommend this listing to others!! »

« We had a glitch at check in because we didn’t get our code in advance. Fortunately, the neighbor who is the caretaker of the place gave us the code shortly after arrival.The kitchen was fully-equipped and very clean as well as the rest of the home. Great place for a short vacation with family. Fishing, swimming and boating were the highlights. Lots of room for everyone. Would definitely book again! »

« Our family chose this location for exploring the area in early August. We headed out in a different direction each day and it worked well. We found groceries and more within an easy driving distance in the town of Houghton and mapped out our path of exploration each night before heading out the next morning. The host was helpful upon arrival and gracious during our stay. We felt right at home in this beautifully renovated church! The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with things...
