« Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. Definitely will book again if we’re back in the area. »

« Amber Cottage is a delightful property in a lovely part of Norfolk with everything you could want in close proximity. The cottage its self is wonderful and was perfect for our needs and was well equipped. We would certainly stay again and would recommend. »

« L'accueil dans cet hôtel qui fait aussi pub et restaurant est très chaleureux. Les chambres sont assez spacieuse et la literie confortable, même si cela semble un peu vieillot...(c'est peu être à la mode en Angleterre..?) Toutefois, pour ce tarif on y est bien mieux que dans une chaine d'hôtel style F1... Bref pour un séjour sans se ruiner sur Durham et sa région, je recommande vivement cet hôtel ! »

« Overall, I had a pleasant stay. The room was clean and comfortable, and the welcome gift was a thoughtful touch. The location was also great, with the town centre within walking distance, making it easy to get around. The only issue was with the parking information. The listing stated that parking was available, but I later found out that it is only provided for guests staying 7 nights or more. This restriction was not mentioned in the listing, so it would be helpful if this could be clarified...

« My family and I had a lovely stay. The pool was naturally the highlight especially for our 12 year old who never wanted to get out. It was so much bigger than we expected. The Cottage itself was nice and cool all week despite the heat wave and clean and comfortable throughout. The nearby walks were all breathtaking with some amazing views on top of Thorpe Cloud. We are definitely going to book again. »

« Un séjour inoubliable dans cette douillette maison. L arrivée des plus chaleureuse avec la musique et petite lumière ! Très confortable, bien équipée, jolie décoration cosy et des tableaux de l île de skye pour s immerger. La véranda incroyable, l impression d être seuls au monde. La vue sur le loch de la chambre et du salon est magnifique. Idéale pour visiter l île de skye et le soir se retrouver au chaud dans cette maison. Merci beaucoup !!! »

« A lovely peaceful location, clean and reasonably well equipped. Lots of attractions within easy reach, Given the lack of broadband (or mobile data signal) some up to date info would have been appreciated (nearest supermarket, more recent leaflets, appliance instructions etc). Unfortunately we had problems with the hot water which was lukewarm at best and ran out after only 1 shower. »
