When we entered the home my husband and I immediately said " Frank Lloyd Wright" . A combination of glass, wood and stone enhance the midcentury / arts and craft style of the property. The front of the house is situated behind a wooded treed area providing privacy. The back of the house opens to an expansive unobstructed view of woods and a golf course. Sunlight filters through the bank of ceiling to floor windows. An outdoor deck accessed from the living room provides a closer contact with nature.
The well appointed home is furnished and accessorized with the comfort and convenience of the guests. All appliances are included. The owner provides the necessary inventory for laundry, cooking, bathing and all around thoughtful provisions so the guests never have to run to the store to buy anything. Restaurants, a bank, lakes, historic town of Hardy are within a short driving distance. When called, not for any problems, but for inquiries, the owner promptly responded.
We stayed in November but can see it being rented during all seasons. The gas fireplace is an added amenity. We enjoyed our stay and liked the home so much that we went online to learn more about the architect. The wood detailing, the piano hinges, the stone carved into the ceiling, pocket doors, ample closets, open shelving all appealed to us. High ceilings added to the feeling of space. Excellent traffic pattern, ... we never felt crowded or closed in. Furniture is functional, comfortable and blends well with the period of the house. We would highly recommend this home and the owners for future bookings if ever in the Cherokee Village area.
