This apartment was well furnished and very clean. It was perfect for 2 people, including sitting area, fireplace and nice outdoor space to sit and relax. We found the hot tub clean but not too hot and jets were okay. The shower did give a nice high pressure massage and kitchen was furnished with all the necessities. We enjoyed the stay and sorry we didn’t find time to make use of the bicycles provided. It was close to all the Shawnee NF spots but did keep us out all day enjoying the great hiking and fall colors. The owners were very thorough with information and instructions and we appreciated all the detail and cozy features of this apartment.

This was our second time staying at this location when we come into town to visit family. The hosts are wonderful and very responsive and accommodating. If able, we will always stay at this location when coming into Harrisburg. Highly recommended!

We came for our anniversary weekend so we could hike. This place was fabulous! So many little details were provided; the linens were amazing, the bathrobes and towels were cozy as well. Judy went to the florist to pick up flowers my husband had ordered so they were there when we arrived! Just thoughtful all around. The backyard is a true sanctuary and we loved the flowers and hummingbirds!

Host is very accommodating and friendly. Comfortable patio with flowers and outdoor sofa. TV works well and offers many viewing options. 3 air conditioning units. Good privacy. Kitchen stocked with all the essentials. You feel like a welcomed guest. Nice proximity to Shawnee National Forest.

Hosts answered questions in a timely manner and were a joy to talk to. The apartment was just the right size. A quiet quaint neighborhood with stores and restaurants not too far away. Highly recommended!! Garden of the Gods is a must see!!

Anniversary weekend

The property was very clean the hot tub and the little garden area in the back were so relaxing. The neighborhood was quiet and Judy was a great host. Great gateway to Shawnee

We were traveling with our 1 and 4 year olds and had a great stay - our 4 year old was bummed we had to leave so soon! The house was well stocked, spacious enough for our crew, and the yard was by far the best part - we spent most of our time out there. We were in town to do some hiking in Shawnee nearby and it was the perfect distance away. We hope to be back!

Garden of the Gods Home

This location is a great place to stay for those who are exploring the Shawnee National Forest. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of hiking the Gardens of the Gods. The house is located next to several great restaurants. 10/10 stay!

Charming in town getaway

Cozy lil apartment was great for an anniversary getaway, hot tub was a great addition for nice relaxing evenings. The bikes were a treat to ride around town for sightseeing or visiting the coffee shop. Would definitely book it again for a future stay.

Wonderful!!

The hosts were so welcoming and the apartment was perfect for our family. The bikes were great and able to use on the bike path. Spent everyday outside at Shawnee and came back to lovely apartment and garden/ hot tub to relax. A fantastic getaway!

This was a super cute place, a reasonable distance from Garden of the gods and other hiking areas near Shawnee State Park. There are lots of choices for pizza and other things for dinner and breakfast. They have the cutest little area for their hot tub that we definitely enjoyed. Is Hickory place to stay over when you’ve spent the day hiking.

Perfect Spot for Southern IL Weekend Getaway

Our stay was amazing! Harrisburg is in the perfect spot for Shawnee, and Judy’s apartment is the nicest spot in town hands down. The bikes were perfect for a little riding on the Tunnel Hill trail which is a great workout with some scenic views! We were well within driving distance to all the spots we wanted to hit for hiking as well. A bad storm blew through on our second night there at 2 in the morning, and Judy was kind enough to call us when the sirens went off and let us stay safe in her basement until the tornadoes passed. Couldn’t have asked for a better host for a perfect weekend getaway with my fiancée.I would give it a 6/5 if I could!!
