Thanksgiving weekend / anniversary stay
Pros: cozy, quiet and secluded property, near Main Street with good options for food and shopping, comfortable bed, Morgan was super responsive. Cons: As a number of other reviewers started (and found to be surprising) the A frame unit is just one of 2 rentals which are connected and share many thin walls — we were shocked to find out we were not alone. We were only told about them once we heard their footsteps and inquired with Morgan. Kitchen needs some love and care, no frills but can suffice for very basic camping-style meals. Difficult to know what outdoor area was meant for us or the other rental property. Saw one mouse, surely more are around. Overall, we enjoyed our anniversary — we’re easy to please!

Getaway in Honesdale
We had an amazing weekend. The house is a bit outdated, but we were there to be outside. There is another rental connected to the A-frame. The walls are very thin, but we didn't mind at all. (We're used to the loud city). They have their own fire pit and outdoor section in the back yard. The A-Frame has the huge fire pit and seating area in the front.There's anything you need within a 10 min drive(groceries, alcohol, restaurants, etc.) Main St was super cute,we strolled around to look at the shops and got some lunch. It is also only a 20 min drive to lake Wallenpaupack where we rented Kayaks for a day. We would definitely stay again. It was a great weekend getaway from the city.

The A frame is very nice and we felt very comfortable there. The yard did need some maintenance and it would have been nice to be able to use the outdoor amenities. Overall it was a very good stay.

Mountain Top Property on 8 Acres

Overall good stay
The view was beautiful, so quiet too. Check in was super easy. I stayed in one of 2 I believe. Was expecting just me but that's on me for assuming and not reading into the rental properly. Unit was clean but outdated. Walls are paper thin, I could hear the other guests and they were loud past 1230 am on my first night. Nothing negative about the owners, nothing they can do about rude guests.

Wasn't happy but greatful
After arriving at the destination that was picked due to what me and the girlfriend wanted. I found that there were already people in the location that we requested. I called the host and the host was nice enough to accommodate us into another location that he had within driving distance, but was not what we were looking for at all. Very grateful that he was able to do what he did but not happy with the situation at all. And to be honest I want some kind of money back due to the fact that it wasn't what we asked for and agreed upon.

Rustic feel with great views
Myself and my nephews spent a night in this apartment. Had a great time sitting around the fire in the evening and watching playoff baseball. Place was clean but a little outdated. Overall, it met our needs for a good price and we enjoyed our stay.

A slice of heaven
The house was exactly what we needed, clean and plenty of room for the 4 of us. The outdoors space was wonderful, great fire pit, chairs, glider, table, and beautiful view of the surrounding area. Our host, Morgen, was wonderful, we will definitely be back. Thank you for a great trip😁👍

Worst experience
I had the worst day of my life. Let me share my experience, so other people shouldn't go through what I went through by booking this place. We arrived at this Cabin place around 3:40 pm. The host of this place was there for some sort of maintenance. When I tried to open the front door of the cabin, we noticed that the door is already locked from inside and someone else was already there in the cabin. I told this issue to the host who was present at that time around the property. He told us that this place was mistakenly booked by this website and another rental website. And the person who booked from another rental website had checked in earlier. So, we requested him to book us another cabin or a house nearby since we traveled to this place from Maryland. And it took us 4 and half hours to reach this place. Instead, he gave us $40.00 to have dinner and insisted we find our accommodation by ourselves and left us hopeless there without any accountability or initiation to find another accommodation nearby. I had already booked his place a month ago and I was already charged in my bank account. We were new to this area and we had no idea where to go and it was already 4:00 pm. All the rental stays we contacted that day were booked. It was not our fault that his place was booked twice by two different websites. But the host didn't have any decency or humanity to help his guests who had traveled from far away and who had an expectation for a wonderful stay. He didn't even give me a full refund for leaving us stranded there. I had to contact the customer service myself to give me a full refund. I hope no other people have to go through this type of bad experience by booking this place.

Our vacation
This was the perfect spot for just me and my boyfriend. It was a quiet get away from our regular lives. I personally live in an apartment so hearing the people upstairs every so often wasn’t that big of an issue for us. The host was very welcoming and polite. It is right beside the woods so yes there are some bugs which we expected. Overall we had a great time and would definitely come to this place again!

When we arrived, there were cob webs in the rafters and dirt on the floor. I even found a dead cockroach in the laundry room. While we were there, we had a plumbing issue, but the owner responded quickly. He came out himself to do a patch job, then got a plumber out there the next day. He also gave us a gift certificate to a restaurant in town for the inconvenience. While the plumber was there, he also observed a gas leak and fixed it. We don't have a gas stove at home, so we were not sure if it was normal to have a lingering gas smell. We also could not figure out the oven, so when the owner came in, he had to light the pilot for us. Other issues were minor: The table was wobbly, there was a power strip in the bedroom that would not run the air conditioner and our PS4 at the same time, and there were no instructions left for tenants about operating appliances or on a checkout process. There was also no remote for the blue-ray player, so my husband offered to program a universal remote if they bought one, which they did. Overall, it was a nice, quaint, cozy place to stay, and we enjoyed our visit. However, there were a lot of small inconveniences that made it a little of a headache. We brought all of them to the attention of the owner and general manager so they can be rectified for future guests.

Honesdale is a terrific little town with lots of hiking, fishing, waterfalls, breweries and restaurants. Morgen is a wonderful host and the property has beautiful scenery. The outdoor fire pit is so relaxing and peaceful. Highly recommend this cute little A-Frame :)

No privacy and dirty
This was my first booking with Vrbo and shame on me for not reading back through enough reviews! I liked the staircase and the character of the wall. However, the pictures and descriptions are careful not to show you the owners (or someone) live attached to this place. The walls are thin! We could hear them walking and talking from our bedroom. I could hear “Do you want Grandma to...” it is literally thin enough to hear conversations! Of course then we are whispering - if I want to whisper I could stay at home with my kids! The place was also not very clean. My husband cleaned off many cobwebs from the walls down stairs. There is still more needing cleaned in the upstairs rooms. There was mouse dirt in the bathroom he cleaned up before bed and there was more in the morning. Also, a suggestion - if you are going to play music for the guests when they walk in I would ask them what they like or play something like classical music. It was an immediate dislike when you open the door and hear rap! We don’t like it, don’t listen to it and created an immediate reaction to the place. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this place and wouldn’t come back.

Very disappointed!
I brought my fiance here to propose. We walk in to the property & we immediately here rap music & talking through the walls. Property owner said tenants were renting next door. The only thing separating us from the tenants was a very thin wall. We left 10 minutes after arriving, didn't even unpack any personal belongings. Tried to reach out to the owner to let him know we were not staying & to discuss some kind of refund. He never responded or reached out to me. Stuck paying for 4 nights when I didn't even stay 1. Nothing right about that! So, if you mind staying with complete strangers on the other side of the wall from you please pick another property.

A great place to stay!
Had a great time here with my wife celebrating her birthday. The location of the house is very scenic and quiet. We had great communication with Morgen (the owner) from the very start. The house was neat and tidy and was a very nice place to stay. I would totally recommend this home to anyone visiting the Scranton/Honesdale, PA area as a place to stay.

The actual place is much smaller than it looks in the pictures. The stairs to go to the upper level are extremely uncomfortable and definitely not for older people. We saw spiders and a rat in the kitchen which was scary.

The location of the chalet provided for a peaceful backdrop to our relaxing getaway and Morgen was very nice, attentive, and communicative. However, there were some things that I wish I knew before booking: ▪︎The house had a smell, possibly septic, which would explain why the toilet gurgled and why there was a HEPA air purifier in the bathroom. ▪︎Overall, cleaning was lacking in the details: (1) Kitchen - range hood filter needed changing, there were dead bugs all over the hood light bulb, and the counters weren't wiped well; (2) Cobb webs throughout; and (3) Dead bugs on the window sills. ▪︎The single room mattress provides no support. ▪︎The conjoining tenant is very nice, but pretty active, so expect to hear a lot of movement throughout your stay. ▪︎Bring your own linens; we found the linens to be very coarse.

Come for the comfort, stay for the patio area!
The A shaped apartment is perfect for a small group. My spouse, doggie and I had a wonderful time. You will find all the basics you need for a comfortable stay and a bit more. As we were drinking in, Morgen came in to say hi and brought in a case of water and showed us the whole bag of ice he had just put in the freezer. He really makes sure his guests are comfortable and have everything they need to make it a good stay. I would had extended my visit, but to my sadness, his place is book solid all the way til October! I can certainly see why! I definitely recommend, and would come back if visiting the area again

The firepit area was nice and the view was great. The narrow spiral staircase was not mentioned, so my mother had to sleep on the couch. There are serious sewage issues with this property that should be resolved before anyone comes anywhere near it. The fan blowing out of the windowless basement was under my bedroom. Quite a stench. There’s also some mold issues, hence the HEPA filters in every room. The window in my room wouldn’t close after I opened it for a breeze. It is a nice location and will be a good place to stay once serious repairs are made.

The house reeked of cats. Couldn’t spend the night.
I emailed the owner telling him that we wouldn’t be able to stay in the house, the smell was that bad! He told me that they don’t have any cats, but I read in other reviews that visitors are allowed to bring pets, so maybe a previous visitor brought cats? We didn’t even spend the night. Very frustrating.

Quaint thanksgiving get away
What a wonderful stay! Our host was amazing and the most communicating and helpful host we have had. Helped us over to the to find the property when we were having trouble and came down on Thanksgiving to help us out. Cabin was clean and kitchen was perfect for making our Thanksgiving feast! Amazing! Also very dog friendly. Our fur babies loved their stay too!
