Ruined Vacation

I had booked the Long Island Lake Resort back in the beginning of April. My stay was to be from 6/23-6/26. I received 3 confirmation emails for my stay in June. The last email being just 2 days before my stay. Early check in is not an option, check in time is 4pm. We got there a little early (3pm), and decided to just wait and grab a bite to eat. At 3:15pm, I was contacted by Long Island Lake Resort and told that unfortunately they have overbooked and had to cancel my reservation. I was extremely irritated. Who waits until 45 minutes before check in to cancel someones 4 day reservation. They could only say "We are truely sorry". I am sorry doesn't help much when my young kids, husband, and I have been driving for 9 hours to get to our Hot Springs reservation. Our vacation was unfortunately ruined. I will never stay at this resort and be telling everyone that is heading to Hot Springs, AR to avoid this place at all costs.

Great view off the rear balcony and lake is steps away. Great communications from staff. Property could use a little TLC, but it was clean. Major negative was the Direct TV was not working at all in the entire building, and we had planned to watch March Madness. Wi-Fi in the evening was sketchy, and bring your own bottled water - the tap water is not pleasant. Overall, I would stay again, just with a little more information to plan the trip.

Not great

Chose this hotel to be outside and enjoy the lake. They are remodeling some rooms and spraying paint that filled the whole area with fumes until 8 pm when we went to dinner so we couldn't be outside for long. Some other rude guests took over the swim dock and smoked pot for well over an hour so my son couldn't be out because there was no way to get away from that either. The room is run down with a super tiny bathroom. So tiny, my husband fell into the bathtub trying to close the bathroom door and I hit my eye on a glass shelf that is exactly eye level over the sink. The water pressure is low. Definitely the low point of our trip. Glad we were just passing through and not staying awhile.

Location, cleanliness, view, and parking: All 5 star. Those are the things that matter the most, IMO. On the nit-picky side, it's time to replace the carpet, the bathroom is tiny, and the bed is going to depend on whether or not you like a firm bed with flat pillows. Overall though, I would recommend it, particularly at it's price point.

I booked this property based on the reviews I read. I was very disappointed. The room itself was large and we had plenty of room. The cabinets in both kitchenette and bathroom were in desperate need of updating. The kitchenette was not supplied with enough plates, bowls etc... We called the front desk via cell phone to ask where the ice machine was located and were told it was broken and the part had not come in. The next morning we went to make coffee and there were no condiments to be found. Again called the office and were told the delivery had not come in for their cream and sugar. For what we paid for the room we were extremely disappointed. There were no extras and it really needed updating. The staff was pleasant and Ashton from check in was kind enough to stop on her way to work to pick up some creamer for our coffee. This was a special occassion trip and unfortunately for what we paid were very disappointed in our room. It did have a very nice view of the lake with a shared porch. .

Very easy to get to shopping/restaurants. The property was well kept, manager welcoming & helpful. And…the view looking at the lake was beautiful!! Will definitely go back again in the future.

Don’t do it!

Area is downhill with lots of stairs and no ramp and overlooks small river. Had to walk down stairs to get to a stinky room. Front door has wall in front so can’t see out. Back door is small overlooks small river. Extremely disappointed. Found another hotel immediately. Front desk person couldn’t care less about how to greet a customer.

Nice clean room with a lake view.

Enjoyed our time here. Felt comfortable and safe at this facility. No hangers in the room for clothes, and the TV remote quit working; tho we didn’t watch a lot of TV, so not that big of a deal.

This was our first visit to Hot Springs Arkansas and Long Island Resort made our stay a comfortable, safe, and a very pleasant experience. The facility and staff are GREAT! It may need some upgrades (carpet, sofas), but it is still kept clean and very well maintained. I highly recommend to stay.
