« Room 1 is extremely small, but was spotless and the bed extremely comfortable. There were too few staff. Service at dinner and the bar was very slow. Dinner wasn't as hot as it should have been. There was too much food on a small plate, I had to hunt under the chicken for my vegetables! Overall, it's quite expensive for food that although was delicious it wasn't hot and not served in a timely manner. »

« Quirky with some lovely staff in the evening in the restaurant. The gardens are also beautiful but small things could really enhance the hotel to get more from its potential. My stay improved after a few small disappointments. The room was warm and quiet. The meal on the second night was excellent (first night's green curry with poppadoms was less so and lacking in flavour). »

« Perfect bolthole. It feels like stepping into a nicer universe. We stayed in a yurt again, and admittedly, the ensuite is rustic and chilly as you would expect but the main yurt was cosy and luxe even when the weather was cold. Staying on a Thursday night meant food was available and live entertainment! »

Next to good hiking trails in the beautiful Ribble Valley Only downside was the rooms on the ground floor get some noise from creaking floors from the rooms above. Last visit was particularly bad because there was a wedding reception so the noise from the floor above went on very late. »

« Room cleanliness was okay — you get what you pay for. My main issue was the amount of noise inside the hotel itself. For the last couple of nights of my stay, there was heavy music and loud conversations continuing into the early hours of the morning, which was completely unacceptable for a hotel environment. Sleep was almost impossible. I also got the impression that the hotel may be being used as sheltered emergency accommodation through the local council, which may explain the constant...

« The hotel and lake setting is beautiful. The spa is too expensive when you are limited to only two hours when it is extremely quiet. »

« Beautiful property. We really enjoyed our stay here, it was so cosy, clean & well looked after. The hosts were welcoming and friendly, they made us feel very at home and were very attentive throughout our time. Great location and a short 5 minute drive to Haworth.
