Bute is such a lovely island with a very specific charm (in architecture, landscape, history ...), and the people we met were overwhelmingly friendly and so pleasingly laid-back. It's on the first floor (ground floor is a different flat, which we didn't know - but it doesn't matter, because it's still spacious), and it's perfectly located, as well as tastefully decorated, clean, and equipped with all the comforts one needs and none ...
