„Stayed for one night, the bar area was really busy when I arrived at around 1845hrs. Booking in was straightforward and the room was comfortable with an en-suite. The locals in the bar were very welcoming and friendly. I had a full breakfast, which was excellent, the staff were also very friendly. If you are looking for somewhere to stay, the location is an excellent base for touring the area, and the price of rooms are good value. “

„We had a really excellent 5 day stay. Our room (3) was huge with 2 kingsize beds and a large sofa. Bathroom was also a good size. The breakfast was good with excellent friendly, prompt service. A really good location for visiting the area and not too busy. Parking was never a problem. It would have been useful to have some plug-in bed side lights rather than battery operated nightlights. „Great place as a base for exploring the Borders. Overall stay was good. Room was exceptionally clean(had a couple of minor niggles but these were dealt with happily and swiftly). Stayed in a double which was quite small (with only one bedside table). Would 'upgrade' to a larger room if staying again. „Lovely spacious well-heated house in beautiful countryside. We had a week of snowy weather which was heavenly. Edward, the owner was extremely helpful. He towed out some cars which got stuck in the car park by the house, provided lots of logs, replaced the washing machine which had problems and was generally a great help. This is a house for people who like old books and furnishings...don't go there if you want modern posh.“
