« First impression of the hotel at check-in was exceptional- Stephen was very welcoming and friendly, and we knew it was going to be an incredible stay! In fact, encounters with the staff from bartender, restaurant and housekeeping were all friendly, engaging, and positive. « A beautiful B & B run by Karen in a tiny hamlet near Keswick. The room was delightful with comfortable bed and furnishings that matched the age and style of the building perfectly. Lovely view from the window over Karen's wonderful garden with, at the time I stayed, a hen with 8 tiny chicks. Parking was easy and the breakfasts filling and delicious. A wonderful stay in the Lake District. »

« Kettle in room was dirty brown yellowy in the bottom asked for it to be cleaned to be told it had been cleaned so was unable to make a brew in the room. Breakfast was ok although fried egg was not cooked properly very snotty. Boiled eggs uncooked today. The woman had bad attitude the way she spoke to guest blunt and rude. Would not stay here again. »

« Wonderful staff. Old building with no AC, which as a traveling american in summer was an adjustment but lots of history to the building and the staff was super helpful. Beautiful views as well! »

« Whilst my room was small, it had all I needed. The highlight was the staff: reception and bar/restaurant staff were excellent. Polite, attentive, efficient. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice. The restaurant menu for dinner was ok but sometimes a wider simpler choice would have been nice. »

« We stayed only 1 overnight on the way down from scotland. We could see lot of people staying for visiting the lakes. The hotel is in a very nice location. They are also pet friendly and they provided us a towel and a bowl for the dog. We highly recommend both breakfast and set menù dinner which was very nice. Room was clean and bathroom looked recently renewed. »

« Très décevant comme séjour. L'insonorisation est POURRIE (style feuille de carton) et les deux nuits nous sommes en plus tombé sur des fêtards qui profitent du fait qu'il n'y a pas d'employé la nuit pour se promener partout dans le lobby et corridor en faisant claquer les portes. Le matelas serait dû pour être changé, on ressentait tous les ressorts.. Bref, le seul point positif est le magnifique paysage entourant le lodge et le très bon petit-déjeuner (par contre on doit payer, non inclus). »
