Hi Paula, thank you for staying with us and leaving the review! We appreciate all feedback and I am sorry to hear about both the overly warm room and the poor check-in experience. Regarding check-in, while we are a small team, we do make every effort to be available during check-in hours such that guests can arrive when works best for them and get checked in quickly. Therefore, your arriving to not be able to find nor contact anyone is unacceptable and we've identified where it went awry. I apologize again for that and am confident on a future trip you won't run into that issue.As the rooms have casement windows (great for the view and ability to fully open, but impossible to easily place air conditioners in) we do our best to open windows overnight to let cool air in and close them during the day. It sounds like this was missed this morning, which made your room that much warmer than it needed to be when combined with the high 80s it ended up getting to. We are currently saving up to get heat pumps placed in all the rooms. Of course that does not help you now, so I do apologize again - we are definitely aware that on the hottest summer days, those rooms can be uncomfortable during the early evening and only become comfortable at night for sleeping. We provide additional fans for all guests and hope you were able to enjoy the room and lodge overall once it cooled down!For wine, you are correct that we have a liquor license that prohibits outside alcohol in the service area (the common areas/patio/etc). We do sell a few great wines by the bottle, but we also have canned wine which is quite delicious and priced very fairly for someone not looking to purchase an entire bottle. We have attempted to sell glasses in the past and unfortunately, it creates a significant waste issue and is a financial loss as well due to that waste. If we were missing something in the can options (a white, for example), we will be restocking soon and will try better in the future to not run out of styles.Thanks once more for the feedback and we look forward to having you give us another try on your next visit to the Sugarloaf area!

We're thrilled you had a nice time. :) One tiny nuance is that we have a well stocked kitchenette (induction plates, electric griddle, toaster oven, and more!) that fulfills nearly any cooking/prep need, but technically the "kitchen" as we call the commercial area is off limits for guests other than for dishwashing.
