Noisy location with stained carpets and Crowing Roosters
This unit has stained, ripped carpet, uncomfortable furniture, a kitchen that is insufficiently stocked , broken beach chairs, and short pull chains on ceiling fans. The very worst single thing about this unit and Kiahuna Plantation in general is the never ending crowing roosters. Roosters run freely on the property and there are hundreds of them. They crow nonstop all day. This is especially annoying while trying to sleep. They crow throughout the night and really crank it up from 5:00 am through 8:00 am. Ear plugs are mandatory unless youâre deaf. Unlike other properties in Poipu, Kiahuna Plantation does nothing to attempt to control or relocate the chickens.
The grounds are lovely, and well maintained. however there is no pool on site you have to go across the street to the athletic club not so convenient if you want to spend the day relaxing at the pool.
Overall it was outstanding. The only improvement might be an upgrade to the refrigerator. It makes constant noise and the rust stains on the exterior are not consistent with the rest of the unit
We love Kiahuna Plantation and have stayed in various units over the years. This unit is pretty basic, but it was a good price, so we weren't expecting high end. The biggest disappointment was the condition of the pull out sofa bed. It was so uncomfortable (and noisy) we had to pad it with multiple layers of blankets and other bedding to get it to reasonable for our two teenage girIs to sleep on (and they are very easy going). The dishwasher was also very noisy.
This specific room is the furthest from the beach and closest to the road. We found ourselves getting in the car and driving closer to the beach rather than walking.
You have to leave the windows open every night if you donât want to get too hot. The Loud sprinkler system woke my wife and I up at 5:30 am every morning I was there.
There were several cockroaches that we killed in the condo as well.
Wish that they wouldâve included some beach chairs/umbrella or snorkel stuff for us to use. We had to buy our own umbrella (which we left there in the closet).
But overall, not a bad place.
