Adventure with family

We found the cottage very comfortable and convenient and enjoyed the horses and dogs. It was especially good as our relatives lived across the drive and were our hosts.

A dream staying at this cottage

We liked this cottage so much that we made a second visit, and not the last we hope! This little cottage is perfect for us two older people: no stairs. Everything handy; it is quiet and secluded, to our taste. We can come and go as we wish and visit the beautiful places around. Esther is very communicative and although we did not need anything we liked the communications. Thank you Esther for yet another great little break.

Lovely place to stay

This was our first stay at the cottage. It was lovely and cosy, well presented and had stunning views. We enjoyed the peaceful countryside walks and enjoyed the local cafés.

Beautiful country retreat

Perfect tranquility

Lovely cottage

Leave everything at home!

Host maintained excellent communications prior to visit. Great directions to property. If you go here just take clothes and food with you. You wont need anything else it's all provided. Lovely view from patio area abundant wildlife & friendly dogs. Exceptionaly clean, comfortable (especially the bed) & very quiet.

A piece of tranquility

The property is nestled away near the border to The Lake District making it very easy to access the Southern Lakes, (especially Windermere) & Morecambe Bay or even exploring nearby Lancaster. We used the cottage as a base for exploring & certainly got a lot of use from our National Trust cards. The property itself is part of a small collection of cottages, with friendly neighbours, and the added bonus of neighbouring animals. The cottage is well situated and we loved the stunning views and easy access to local walks, even if we did get a bit lost on our first evening walk. The hosts have put a good collection of local walks in the Home Folder and we’re responsive to messages. We had a very comfortable stay & the cottage had everything we needed and a little more. There was ample cookware & lovely towels were provided. I do slightly wish I could have bought a puppy home with us. If I could fit a family of four in, I would love to go back. Although I am equally tempted to return by myself to help find that elusive calm and headspace. What a wonderful piece of paradise.

' A short break in the countryside '

We enjoyed a few days holiday staying in this comfortable, well equipped rural cottage which is well situated for visiting places of interest in both Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales. This peaceful cottage is located in a small group of similar properties with a neighbouring farm. It has it's own spectacular views with interesting walks and convenient parking.

Lovely property with great views

Perfect retreat to get away from it all. Idyllic location with wonderful views. The cottage clean and had evrything we needed. The weather was lovely and we managed to spend the evenings sitting on the small patio watching the animals as the sun sets.

Mount Cottage

Mount cottage is in a lovely rural setting, we enjoyed evenings watching all the wildlife in the meadow. We were not aware that the cottage was amongst several connecting and neighbouring cottages. Having arrived on a Saturday at check in time, all the local eateries were fully booked, wish we knew ahead of time.

Fantastische cottage met een "wouw" uitzicht.

Geweldige cottage nabij 2 mooie natuurgebieden. Communicatie met eigenaresse verliep erg goed. Cottage was voorzien van alle gemakken.

Wonderful cottage...

We had a wonderful few days holidays at Esther's cottage. The views were stunning, the wild life and farm animals a pleasure to watch, neighbours were very amiable. The cottage was PERFECT for us two. Everything we needed was there. Ester kept in touche to see if everytyhing was all right, and we reassured her that we were delighted. We shall return as this was an unforgetable place to come back to time and time again.

Fabulous location

A lovely little cottage with fabulous views of the countryside. A great base for travelling around Lancashire and South Lakes. Everything you could possible need was there and we especially loved the log burner. Esther the host was at hand to make sure our stay was everything we wished for.

Wonderful location and helpful host

Tidy little cottage to base our adventures around Lancashire from. Frequent and varied bird visitors kept us entertained. Host was very helpful and informative, we both hope to visit again.

Wonderful find

I loved staying here. The cottage was gorgeous with a wonderful view. Simple and comfortable, with everything you might need. There were always things to see out of the window e.g. life on the pond, ducks, geese, horses, dogs and birds coming to the feeders. It was very peaceful, the neighbours were friendly but let you be. I would definitely stay there again.

Not long enough!

The cottage is very cosy and well equipped. It’s in a lovely area and is a good centre for touring even in bad weather! Highly recommended and the log burner is a real bonus and the birds provide excellent entertainment during breakfast.

Absolutely fabulous

We have had the most enjoyable stay in a gorgeous cottage that was spotless & had everything & more you could ask for. Comfortable bed, amazing bathroom & shower, good quality linens, towels etc, fab log burner. Could not fault the owner & her communication, we will definitely be back in the Summer. Highly recommend a stay in this fabulous place
