My partner and I stayed here for my birthday and New Years and it was overall a great experience! We had some issues but most were able to be dealt with. The staff who helped us from High Desert Dwellings were always friendly and I really appreciated having a 24 hour call line. However, communication between staff members seemed to be lacking; we decided to extend our stay by a few days and it was processed online no problem but the next day (when we were originally checking out) a man came by the property around 11am to see if we had checked out and was confused at first when I said we were guests staying there. It was a little awkward but once I said we were vrbo guests and had extended our stay by a few nights he left quickly and we were not visited by any other staff members the rest of the trip. Another issue was the record player being broken. It was one of the main reasons I had booked the property so it was disappointing to arrive and see the needle missing and a sign that said "broken sorry :(" the host was quick to fix the problem and brought a replacement needle the next day. Once I put the part on the sound system worked great! Quality sound and good record selection. I was also very happy with the kitchen setup, one of the best kitchens to actually cook in at a vrbo (good pots/pans, sharp knives, basic spices, utensils, cutting boards, ice tray in the freezer etc.) very nice quality and space. Beware that there is no dishwasher though, dishes have to get done by hand but there is a nice drying rack and window with a beautiful desert view in front of the sink so its not too bad! The last problem was with the house itself, there were some cracks in the floor that had ants and the front door leaked water in when it rained. The ants were only an issue the last few days but it got to be pretty bad towards the end with my partner getting several ant bites, no issues with storing food in the kitchen though, I think they just noticed the house was warm again and decided to come inside. We did not mention either issue to the hosts during the stay since we figured there was nothing to do at the moment. Even with the ants it was an amazing trip and beautiful home. The bathroom in this house is incredible and the skylight above the bath is fantastic, 11/10! The house had great desert views, close enough to town but far enough away to be very peaceful at night with lots of stars. Amazing place to stay in Joshua Tree, I would come back for sure!
