First, I want to say that the staff at the Kouzalis are very friendly and helpful. The hotel lobby and common areas are very clean and well maintained.
The room was somewhat run down but it was clean although I had to ask to have the coffee cups and wine glasses replaced as they were overlooked when the room was cleaned after the previous guests checked out. The bed was very firm (uncomfortable) and the two pillows provided had very little substance to them; even folding them in half barely raised our heads above the mattress. Make sure you ask for extra pillows.
The hotel has a private beach and sunning area but the grass is patchy and would do better if replaced with artificial turf. As it was, it looked a bit scruffy. The advert says there is a sandy beach but we only saw a rocky beach (with perhaps a small amount of sand) and the grassy sunning area.
There were quite a few loungers in the grassy area but if you're not out there by 10:00, you probably out of luck getting one.
The pool is good size and has a swim up bar which is a nice touch.
The closest tourist area is the town of Protaras which is about 4 km away which is a healthy walk but doable. Protaras is nice to walk around and there are lots of shops and good restaurants and bars.
The hotel is about 15 minutes away from downtown Agia Napa and a Taxi ride will cost about 20 Euro for two people.
If you like Mexican food, make sure you make reservations for Los Banditos; one the best Mexican food restaurants in Europe. It is very unlikely that you will be able to get a table without a reservation. As it was, we had a reservation for 8:00 PM and did not get seated until 10:00PM
We found the room price a bit much for what we got but it Was tourist season and all of the hotels are pretty high.
I would stay here again but only if I could not find a better hotel.
