Beautiful peaceful stay

We were very impressed with our stay. Beautiful view of the lake and Pace Bend Park from the large patio. We brought a walker for our 9 month old and he was able to scoot around all over the condo and patio. There is a reserved parking spot in the garage which was nice and an elevator. The AC shut off while we were out one day but luckily it was an easy switch back on. Maintenance answered our call and the property manager, Cam, texted me as well with the solution. There are 3 pools on the property. If we were staying longer, I would probably bring more bath towels and some trash bags. Can’t wait to come back!

Just what we were looking for!

Had a great time, it was clean and quiet and we loved seeing so many deer on the property. We were very happy with the condo and balcony space. Great kitchen, comfortable and clean.

The negatives outweigh the positives-unfortunately

Giving honest review of our stay. The area is very nice. The unit is ok-furniture ok-2 broken patio chairs- just need a couple screws- patio view is very nice. Located in a great space in the complex & next to laundry room. Kitchen well stocked. Arrived a few days late & after a long drive was looking forward to sitting outside-that didn't happen. We walked into a dirty mess-patio included. Dog hair everywhere, some sticky substance like jam or I don't know what on counter top, the oven surface-microwave & fridge not cleaned. Dust bunnies & cobwebs everywhere. Dirty rolled up unfolded blankets shoved on closet shelves & pillows covered with dog hair. We did not call anyone as it was Easter Sunday & cleaned ourselves for just about hour and a half. Lets make the best of it we said-went to bed-(super squeaky) but comfortable. Found quickly-bedroom door needs a curtain. Next day we went to hot tubs-none were working😞2 were cold-1 was closed down. My husband filled the Jacuzzi tub in room- broken as well. Texted owner a few days in- he had his assistant call she said hot tubs were working- they were not-condo tub has been out of order for years due to problems. Told her about dirty mess we cleaned -she apologized & said they were there 2x to clean & just couldn't get all the dog hair up from previous renter. Yikes! Told her it wasn't just dog hair. Dishwasher wasn't working properly-sent a guy out-he said he knew nothing about dishwashers but just doing owner a favor. That was funny. So next week AC went out for 3 days-the following week the hot water went out for a day. (the water is hard & soap doesn't lather) The cleaning crew needs to be trained or fired. We didn't feel like cleaning windows to remove all cobwebs in between them-so left them as they were. But we left the place much cleaner than we found it. The grounds were being taken care of daily but lots of dead plants due to unexpected snow storm-no one's fault. The hot tubs not working & then the one that finally did work being full of people all the time was frustrating- felt lucky getting to use it twice I guess. Pools were gross- peoples swim suit bottoms in them, leaves & part of a baby diaper kept us out of them. THIS was in all three-just not clean. We had enough & didn't want to stick around for one more thing to break down so we left a week early. No fault of owner things breaking but just wasn't as described. Good luck if you rent here-hopefully things will be better for you!

Worst experience ever

I’ve been to the island many times before but this time was the worst. The room was absolutely disgusting and had the worst smell ever (like soiled items and oily smell). We ended up leaving at the first night because as we were going to sleep the sheets were not clean and the bed was broken. It’s like someone was living in it and didn’t ever shower or wash anything. I will never make a reservation there ever again it was that bad. Stay away from this place.

Winter in Lago Vista

If this location were a little closer to the rest of the world, it would be perfect. Nice condo with everything we needed. The indoor pool could be a bit warmer, but perhaps we are spoiled. The pool where we live is 88 degrees. Loved looking at the water and the deer that populate the area. The only drawback is that it is half an hour to the intersection of 1431 and Anderson Mill which is the far north east corner of Cedar Park.

Beautiful place, almost 5-star

We stayed here 9 years ago, and almost everything is the same and still in great condition! The place is beautiful and clean, the patio view is magnificent, and it gave us the getaway we needed. We love The Island, and will probably book this condo again, since it’s easy to access, private, and clean. There are a few things to mention that kept me from giving it 5 stars. The bedroom carpet seemed damp when we arrived, and our feet felt slightly sticky when we walked back out into the tile floor. I know they deep clean in late fall (per an answer to another reviewer), so I can only assume they had recently shampooed the carpets, since they were clean and I didn’t smell mildew. The carpets did dry out during our stay. There were only 3 out of the 4 bedroom curtains, and you could see that the remaining 3 curtains were rearranged onto the rings so there wasn’t an obvious set of curtain rings without a curtain on them. The problem is, this left the glass door uncovered, which is not good in the bedroom. We took an extra sheet from the closet and draped it over the rod for privacy. (There are also no curtains covering the living room windows, just so you know. That’s pictured on the listing, and not a complaint. It’s beautiful outside, and there is no one across the lake to see in, but there’s always the possibility of boaters getting more than they bargained for!) 2 of the 3 vanity lights were burned out in the bathroom. I never was able to get the bathtub jets to come on. The email told us there would be 2 rolls of toilet paper, so we brought our own. This was good, because there were only 2 half-full rolls of TP. One of the reviews complained about a tear on the couch. Yes, but it’s been sewed together and wasn’t a problem at all. The bed was comfortable, I enjoyed plenty of hot water in the bathtub, and the place was quiet. (We visited in October and barely saw any people, versus the busy July when we came 9 years ago.) The work-out room was empty in the early morning hours, and we had the outdoor hot tub to ourselves in the evening. A beautiful place and a very pleasant stay with lots of gorgeous photo opportunities. It just needed a little attention to detail in a few areas to earn that 5th star. We didn’t contact anyone, because we managed to take care of things on our own and would rather not have had our vacation interrupted by a maintenance visit. Still loved it!

Beautiful view but a broken down property

I booked a weekend getaway to The Island on Lake Travis for my wife’s birthday and I would have to say that we didn’t enjoy our stay at all. The indoor pool and spa was closed, only one of the outdoor spas was working so it was always packed and both pools were dirty. Also, the jacuzzi tub in our unit did not work and there was a bad sewer smell around the restaurant. The property was nice, the view was beautiful and the unit was clean and enjoyable. But, I book and paid for the vacation based on the amenities which none seem to be working. It would have been nice to have known ahead of time that these amenities were not working since this is what was advertises about the place. Also, we did not enjoy reading in the journal, for the unit, about how everyone got busy everywhere in the place. For these reasons we will not be staying at The Island on Lake Travis again.

Great place with a great view

Property met expectations. Was clean and had a great view from the patio. Only bad was there were wasp flying all over the patio we couldn’t sit out there the first day. I called for help 2x and the operator said someone would come but they never did. Didn’t want to let that ruin our vacation so I went to the store and got some wasp spray. Solved the problem myself by killing over 8 nest and spraying some wasp. $18 dollars of wasp spray and 15 minutes of my time and we were back to enjoying our stay. I try not to let the little things ruin a great weekend. The patio was sized perfectly for 4-6 people. The lake was awesome. There was a boat ramp right by our area. You could have the jet skis in the water in minutes.

Peaceful

Overall our stay was awesome. The view was wonderful. Enjoyed coffee on the balcony and loved the deer and wildlife. Very peaceful and quiet. The only reason I cant give it 5 stars is because housekeeping really needs to do a better job. However, I must give management 5 stars as they are more than happy to address any issue that may arise and are very responsive. I believe that my next stay will be a 5 star experience. I would highly recommend The Island at Lake Travis. Wonderful getaway.

Great place to relax and get away

Everything from the reservation to the registration was seamless. That let us focus on having a great vacation. The location was great for seeing the fireworks on the lake, and we could pop in to town for coffee and supplies easily. The facilities had everything we needed except ice. Bring your own ice, for sure. It's Texas and it's hot, don't let your beer suffer in the heat.

This condo is wonderful and located right on the water, nestled under a big oak tree. It was quiet and private. The interior, however, is well-worn and needs a deep clean as the carpet is old and stained, the couch and chair both have rips, and the tile grout could use a scrubbing. If you can look beyond that, it is a lovely place to stay.
