„Stayed five times, excellent hotel fro a short break away .“

„On arrival we were greeted with a bottle of wine biscuits and a bottle of milk which was a lovely touch. It is a lovely place to stay and would have no problem booking again.“

„Alles bestens, Danke“

„Freundliches Personal und gutes frühstück. Saubere Zimmer mit komfortabler Ausstattung “

„Lovely traditional Lakes coach inn in great setting close to Bassenthwaite although no view of the lake itself. Service was a bit archaic but I’m putting this down to because it felt like everyone was new? The original historic snug bar is the best feature within but it is clear they are more focused on servicing the relatively new restaurant bar area. Free parking and WiFi. Cooked breakfast was fantastic as was dinner … but … why oh why would you feature Nothumbrian sourced ingredients in the ...

„It’s always a very nice experience staying there. Nice people at the bar. Good breakfast, my Room was newly renovated. See you next Time.“

„Difficult for the hotel as there was a power cut for quite a few hours following the storm“

„Booked a double room but got a room with 3 single beds. Not the end of the world but not what I booked. Beds were uncomfortable. Mattress was really thin, when you sat on it you were basically sat on the bed base and when you laid on the bed you could feel the springs in your back and side. The walls were wafer thin, you can hear the tap running and toilet etc from the room next door. Also the water in the bathroom made a right racket when you ran the tap, shower or flushed the toilet. Had an ...

„I've stayed at the Trout a number of times, it is a pretty, well maintained hotel with lots of character and ideally placed to explore Cockermouth, the Western Lakes and the national park. The food is good and the staff are professional and very friendly.“

„It was a great stay with very good Food and very kind staff. We will definitely come back!“

„I received a very warm greetings g when I arrived and was shown to my room, the room was very clean with a view of the train station which was amazing. I had dietary requirements and they were very happy to help. I really enjoyed it and will definitely return“
