The safestay is a convenient way to spend some nights in London if you are on a budget or if you are used to basic standards.
The rooms were cleaned every night, its the residents that make everything filthy.
The staff was nice and very polite but not helpful. I told them two times in three days that the toilet opposite our room was broken and after three days this still was not fixed.
When I arrived at 1 am, I could still check in that was very nice but there were no key cards left. I was provided with a card the next morning but still how can you run out of key cards, knowing how many beds you provide?
Apparently rooms happen to be double booked, which is why someone came into the room at 4 in the night and yelled at a person to get out of 'his' bed, waking all other residents. Did not feel safe with the fact that this guy could just enter the room. To mark his territory the guy shoved his luggage into the room, so after the two sorted this out went to the reception, the original resident went back to bed and 20 minutes later the rude guy came back to yell at the guy again taking his luggage which he left in the room. Again, I did not feel safe.
Although there are garden use times, people keep on sitting chatting or yelling and drinking until late in the night or morning (5 to 6 am).
Wouldn't be a problem if one could close the windows, but it was too hot in the room to close them.
Overall, I used the hostel for sleeping, but I think I would not come back a second time
