I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding my recent hotel booking made through Expedia. Unfortunately, my experience fell significantly below acceptable standards.
Upon arrival, we encountered several serious issues with the hotel room, including the presence of cockroaches, non-functioning air conditioning, stained bedding, and a bathroom that was both unclean and emitted an unpleasant odour. These conditions are wholly unacceptable and raise concerns about hygiene and basic maintenance.
In addition, the check-in process was problematic. The hotel initially did not recognise our Expedia booking, and we were required to contact a third-party agency to confirm the reservation. This caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience.
Furthermore, the hotel was clearly misrepresented on Expedia’s platform. The images and description provided create a misleading impression that does not reflect the actual condition or standard of the property. I believe this warrants investigation, particularly given that the hotel appears not to properly acknowledge Expedia bookings.
As a long-standing and loyal Expedia customer, I am extremely disappointed by this experience. I had expected a reputable company such as Expedia to maintain higher standards and ensure the accuracy of its listings. The lack of accountability, particularly the refusal to offer any refund or compensation, is also deeply concerning and unacceptable.
