First of all, the Hotel is very clean especially the lobby and the dining area. It was difficult to find because the Hotel name is still carrying the previous name of the hotel. Do not search for Brittany Global South but instead look for Mella Hotel. Not a very nice location. On Expedia it says 9.9km away from the Mall of Asia and takes 10 minutes to get there, but in reality it can take up to 45 minutes because of the traffic congestion surrounding this area.

One of My Worst Hotel Experience
When we checked into our room, the air condition was not working properly and while we were staying there, it was very hot and very uncomfortable.

Staffs are cheerful and friendly at the beginning only. There were lots of awkward moment since they made mistakes with our request and bookings then blamed us for it and asked payment for services we did not avail or used. Rooms are dirty with some weird smell. Bathroom door was defective (doesn’t close or open smoothly). Small shower rooms. In general family/group rooms are pretty small. Outside paint and building looks faded and old. Surroundings are not safe if you want to stroll and explore the area. Hotel was built beside the cemetery so it a bit scary to look outside the window at night.

Location for the airport was good. Staff were welcoming, the hotel was presentable and clean. We were a bit disappointed that on arrival we had to pay for an upgrade to our room. I had booked a family room and clearly stated in my booking we were 6 people. They took us up to the room and only then did we realise it was only for 4. Why this issue could not have been identified earlier I don’t know. The larger family was fine but had only one tiny window in the stairwell.

The hotel is a clean modern hotel. The Pool area was nice but not nearly large enough and did not have enough seating for the size of the hotel. The resaurant staff were very friendly and tried hard but have not been trained to allow a suitable time gap between appetizers and the main course so everything arrives together. Of the three meals at our table, which was three of the 5 people in the restaurant, one meal and appetizer arrived immediately together and the otherwise two arrived 20-30 minutes after. My chicken was bloody inside when I did get it and was still charged for it. They did offered to give me another meal but I was done waiting. Our bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean but damp.

This Hotel has many pros/cons. Pros: 1)Extremely clean 2)Exceptionally Friendly/Helpful staff 3)Nice breakfast in lobby. 4)Nice pool except on Sat/Sun morning when the pool is overly crowded with children. During the week, it’s very pleasant. 5) Excellent WiFi. Cons: Hotel Management is horrible/terrible! We stayed here for 10 nights and it was during the week we were getting married, yet I’ve never stayed at a Hotel anywhere in the world that was more unappreciative of its customers and as petty as the Melle Hotel! Officially, this is a 3.5 star hotel, but they think they’re a 5 star establishment with the disdain shown towards their customers. It’s mostly locals who stay here and maybe that’s why it’s customers tolerate their rude policies. They don’t know or understand a thing about the hospitality industry. Examples: They required a 4,000 peso room deposit in cash (even though we pre-paid for 10 nights) They would’t accept a Visa Credit card. Lost our reservation too. Won’t return.

Check in service takes 45 mins even there was no queue. Breakfast and dinner options are limited. The Chef must have tasting disorder as all dishes are beyond salty. Dishes are limited and likely the hotel is catered more for local holidays maker. Definitely not for business and international travellers. Staff are friendly and helpful.
