It's not often you can open your eyes in the morning and stare out at a beautiful sunrise off the lake listening to the loons. This was a perfect week, full of relaxing fun on Big Lake. The property was a little slice of heaven. If you are looking for a true up north WI get away where you can unplug from life's stressors(where there is no tv to distract you), this is it! A true northwoods feel! The owners, Lauren etc, were excellent to work with, responded to all your questions and needs very quickly. The house was set up incredibly with everything you could possibly think of, and it was immaculate! No stone left unturned! The large kitchen was equipped with every glass, bowl, pan and appliance you needed to make you feel right at home. The weber charcoal grill got a lot of use for our cookouts. They even put a screened "tent" with a picnic table outside so you could eat "bug free"(yet we didn't find the mosquitos bad at all this week). The three bedrooms are large with multiple beds and a ton of space- I just loved the "master suite" with bathroom attached, with beautifully large windows and direct views of the lake. The two bathrooms are newly remodeled and just beautiful! Linens, towels, blankets all in abundance. In the living room, there is a beautiful stone natural fireplace and nicely decorated reading and game areas(games and puzzles supplied). The stairs down to the lake are easily managed and the shared dock was perfect for our 18 foot fishing boat. The sandy bottom was just great for swimming and starts very shallow, perfect for kids or anyone who just wants a leisurely walk into the lake. The lake itself is absolutely gorgeous, we've been coming to Big Lake for many years for it's peacefulness. With the state owned land, it is not very busy, great for fishing muskies or fish to eat-we caught bluegills, perch, bass etc. Sitting on the dock every morning drinking coffee and watching the eagles fly by was just perfect. We brought our bikes since the beautifully paved bike trails are 1/4 mile from the property, and the property is almost half way between Manitowish Waters and Boulder Junction-we biked to each for ice cream and smoothies. So fun to wind along in the large pines and seeing the deer and turkeys on the way. This property is a true gem and I felt very grateful to have found it. Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality and we look forward to coming back as soon as possible! Loved it!
