This is a clean and fully-stocked property. The owners are non-invasive, but welcoming and helpful. Good, clean beds and linens, towels and wash cloths, good hear for the chilly weather. This is a great base camp for adventures to some of America’s most stunning landscapes. This is the first trip we have taken to this area, so we were mostly sightseeing and exploring. But if fishing and hiking are on your agenda, this is a terrific central location.
If you are looking for an aesthetic “yuppie” experience, you are not going to get it here. This is an unpretentious place with unpretentious people. Because it is basically in the middle of the Southwestern desert, and far from any city or town of size, water is scarce. So, where the water is there are clusters of houses, RV’s and mobile homes in basically tight encampments. Any lodges or restaurants in this part of the world will be part of these communities. You may find it a little crowded if you have rented this place to be there around the clock. No TV to sit around and watch while the world passes you by. Too much to see and do than to hang out. Just take a look from the back of the house and you will see the Vermillion Cliffs, which rivals the Grand Canyon in beauty. Five minutes away is Glen Canyon, which is absolutely spectacular.
This is a place I will return to, and recommend to anyone else.
