If I could review this property solely based on the condo, it would be 5 stars. The owners did a wonderful job stocking it with all the amenities you could need. It is spotless, airy, spacious and beautiful. They had beach towels, sunscreen, chairs/umbrellas and a wagon to get everything down to the beach (it’s about a half mile in the sand to the beach…definitely a trek, so plan accordingly) and all of the kitchen necessities. HOWEVER, the following things I wish I would have know before we booked this place. Some background: there were about 10 families that went together with our older kids (14-20 y/o) for spring break. We were spread out across the towers 3 and 4.
#1- THE RESIDENTS DO NOT WANT YOU THERE. They told us they can’t wait until these “spring breakers” leave. They will call the office and complain about noise saying they hear you until 3am when you were in bed before 12 every night. They left notes threatening to call the police about noise. Quiet hours begin at 8pm. Yes…8. The whole island shuts down around that time, so you can’t even take your group to a fun beach place with music to hang out, because they close so early, leaving NOTHING to do after 8-9pm that involves speaking above a whisper because the noise carries throughout the entire complex and you will get noise complaints.
#2 Don’t count on the pool being open and if it is, there are countless rules. You can’t play music, snacks, balls or toys into the water or walk away from your chair for more than 15 minutes before security will move your towel. This is no joke. There is a security guard that literally walks around yelling at people for everything. One guard actually screamed at a mom at 8am for having 3 chairs with towels for her kids that were eating breakfast then heading down. No one else was there. It’s so unenjoyable that we chose to make the trek to the beach every day to avoid the constant scrutiny.
#3 These condos have a very nice recreation spot across the street. They have pickle ball/tennis/shuffle board. Other that, there is no place to get coffee, food or any restaurants on the property. Doreen’s is great, but it’s about a 1/2 mile walk. In short, if you are looking for a chill week of laying quietly at the pool, walking a long distance to the beach and being quiet after 8, it will be a lovely stay. If you want to hang out in a room and play cards..NOPE! You will get complaints. If you want any nightlife, this is NOT a place for that at all! AVOID
