This is the first time I’ve ever left a negative review in the 30 years I’ve been with VRBO. We walked into the house and immediately heard the smoke detectors chirping every few minutes. The pool water was below the skimmer and there was a continuous sucking noise coming from the pool. There was supposed to be a number for the property manager- there wasn’t. We had to call VRBO to try to contact the owner. The owner wasn’t responding. They gave me the number and after multiple attempts, I finally got her. She said she would call maintenance but no one would come out that evening cause it was too late. At no point did she apologize. The next day we called VRBO again. Maintenance finally came out at 6 pm. They fixed the alarms and turned off the pool pump. No one came out to check the pool til Friday. The pool was cold since the heated water wasn’t circulating so we couldn’t use it. There was no toilet paper in the house when we got there so we had to make another run to Publix. I’ve been in third world countries that supplied toilet paper. Then there was the plumbing issue. The toilet kept gurgling up spontaneously but it would eventually go back down. Then my husband took a shower and the toilet overflowed. The other toilet also did the same. We again contacted the owner with no response. We contacted VRBO again. We finally had someone come to the home at 8pm to fix the problem. Again,no response from the home owner. Thank you VRBO. They really stepped up to help!
