I stayed at El Cortes for 4 nights over Labor Day and the experience did not live up to the hotels 5 star luxury boutique rating. Complimentary breakfast was included with my room at the attached restaurant, Lotti; however, Lotti is under separate management from the hotel. Because of this, I could not charge anything to my room, and I was charged for requesting butter and jam for my toast ($8 US dollars, which is ludicrous). I definitely felt nickel-and-dimed, which is not conducive to a 5-star hotel experience, and the food prices were unreasonably high. Additionally, the walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything happening in your neighbor's room and in the hallway outside your door. The small touches that usually come with a 5-star luxury boutique hotel are all missing. Service was spotty and inconsistent (asked for more hangers and never received any), and every day there was a new set of bugs in my room. Although the interior design of the hotel is visually pleasing, overall it was a disappointing experience for me and my friends (who had their own rooms at the hotel and experienced many issues as well). This hotel should be half as expensive as it is and marketed as a 3.5-4 star hotel.
