The Hotel is very old and the eat and breakfast was discosting…the only Point for the Hotel ist the Location…otherwise never again

Durch eine zusätzliche Fee werden einem Leistungen in Rechnung gestellt, die man gar nicht möchte (2h E-Bike pro Tag, gratis Liegestuhl pro Tag). Dies finden wir unschön. Letztlich entscheidet der Gast flexibel, welche Dienstleistungen er in Anspruch nimmt. Der Whirlpool ist wohl kaum je in Betrieb gewesen. Ganz eine schlechte Erfahrung machten wir am letzten Tag. Wir haben um 12.00 Uhr ausgecheckt und warteten aufgrund des permanenten Regens in der Lobby bis 16.00 Uhr bis unser Taxi uns aufgepickt hat. Offenbar wurde das gar nicht gerne gesehen. Mehrmals wurden wir gefragt, was wir hier noch tun. Das war gar kein schönes Gefühl, da wir immerhin 12 Nächte gebucht hatten. Der Concierge-Service war aber über jeden Zweifel erhaben.

Sehr abgenutztes, ehemaliges Motel welches als Hotel deklariert wird. Klimaanlage immer sehr kalt und stark im ganzen Hotel. Im Zimmer war es nicht möglich dies zu regulieren. Türe und Fenster undicht daher immer ein Luftzug mit dazugehörigem Pfeiffton. Personal sehr nett und bemüht. Pool ist auch super. Leider keine Duschmöglichkeit. Parkingfee mit $42/Tag sehr hoch.

2 inches gap under my door. Couldnt sleep. Was told to put a towel… Next day, they installed the missing part. Ask to extend: their pricing was outrageous and way higher then suggested online. The resort fee of 41 use per day was hidden. Gives you access to chairs half a mile away with no view on the ocean, super crowded. Less than a feet between chairs. Overall very greedy hotel and not up to the hilton standards. Very disappointed. Do not recommend.

Poor customer service. What is wrong with your staff? They’re unhappy and guests feel this. Room was very small, dark & facing a wall. Promised bottled water for guests but there’s an $8.00 U.S.per bottled water. Very expensive room rate with surprisingly expensive resort fees. Dated rooms.

This hotel located right on Collins Avenue mid Beach, is an excellent location for someone who wants to spend a little less being one block off the beach versus across the street beachfront. The hotel was lovely. The room was clean. Our view was not the most exciting because it was at the back of the hotel, facing the power poles, and Telephone and electrical wires. Other than that, it was a lovely hotel and the breakfast every morning was great in the restaurant thankfully they had a restaurant and a lovely pool as well.

The hotel room I got was ok. It was nothing spectacular but the location and hotel amenities made up for it! The staff was very helpful, Scott helped me out a lot during my stay. They have activities offered by the hotel if you just want to stay in. The sunset/sunrise yoga was not near the hotel but they do have bikes to rent! A lot of things are within walking distance and there’s an area on the beach for The Gates hotel guest. Umbrellas are an additional fee.

My husband and I came into town for a wedding. Most of our family was staying there. We booked through Expedia which was our first mistake. We wanted a balcony and they offer ones that look over the pool. The gates acquired a motel (not sure when), so there is a significant difference in one side of the hotel versus the other. Our original room was in the motel side, the second we walked in there was such a strong smell of bleach that I got a headache. When downstairs at the desk I asked to switch rooms, they said we couldn’t until I said I wanted a refund and would find somewhere else to stay, they then suddenly had another room available. It was ok- very, very small. Set up completely differently than our families rooms. The hotel is directly on ocean drive, so when you’re in the pool anyone walking by can see you. The pool was blah, the grounds were dirty, the lobby was very dark. The restaurant is good and the staff there were wonderful. The location was great, right across from the 1 hotel and other high end hotels with great bars and restaurants. The gated beach access is about 4 blocks away, the chairs at the beach are so close to eachother that all the guests were literally piled in like sardines. Overall if our family wasn’t staying there we would have left. This is more of a one night place, lots of pilots and stewardess, in and out. It seems like you’re saving money but you really aren’t. Better to spend more on a nicer hotel right on the beach. I do not recommend.

Our family group had 3 rooms at The Gates Hotel for 5 nights. It is a lovely hotel and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool area is really nice. Nothing negative to say about the hotel at all - other than the views from 2 of our rooms on the 3rd floor was just a grass covered wall. No view at all of anything. But everything else about the hotel was excellent - highly recommend it. The free Miami trolley buses were really useful - we used them all the time to get to South Beach.

The sink still had residue of food, the hair dryer had someone’s hair in the filter. The walls were so thin, you hear people’s noises. Their toiletries weren’t refilled. The staff however were very nice. The location of the hotel to the beach was what made this stay bearable.

We stayed in a suite with a wraparound balcony and it was excellent!! The door between the bedroom and the living area was a particularly good touch. The staff were all incredibly friendly and kind!! Especially Louis who worked with us at breakfast! He remembered that we were vegetarian and was very attentive! The complimentary breakfast was good, it was nice to eat in the restaurant and have menu options if we wanted. The pool was good and it was easy for delivery people to find me. The location is obviously excellent for shopping and walking as well as a bit away from the intensity of south beach. My only issue is there did seem to be some communication issues with the front desk and the back of the house in terms of getting us linens and towels, but everyone was so kind and it was resolved eventually. Highly recommend especially if you get a suite

Great hotel for the price and location. Only complaints are the warm pool when its in the 80s and there is absolutely no where to store things in the bathroom.

The staff was helpful, gave us a late checkout time. They gave us, two waters, and a two warm cookies. A nice clean hotel and a very helpful staff, I would recommend!

Hotel is a solid less expensive option in south beach. Beds are comfortable, bathroom is clean, but it’s not a hotel you will dream about staying at again. Perfectly suitable for a work trip or a vacation where you don’t plan to be in your room much. One super annoying thing is there are not enough elevators, only 2 for each side of the hotel, so wait times for elevators is something you have to be ok with.

It was a very nice hotel, safe neighborhood, 15-20 min walk to Ocean Drive and Botanical garden, a few min walk to the beach. Beach loungers and towels on the ocean were included in the price. The staff was very helpful, they responded to our requests very timely (unusual nowadays), the room was good size, clean. There is no heat in the hotel but we were provided a portable heater. Our room didn’t have a view, it faced the wall, but we didn’t book the room with pool view. There is a water fill station on the first floor and a microwave on the second floor. Our room also had a safe and a fridge. The room didn’t have any misty/molder order, I was very happy about it. The pool is not big but heated.
