Le rêve d'un amoureux de la nature ....
Les grandes fenêtres de cette maison rustique donnent sur la baie de San Francisco et les sentiers du mont Tam sont littéralement à votre porte. Il est difficile de croire que San Francisco se trouve à seulement 22 kilomètres lorsque vous vous réveillez avec des cerfs dans le jardin et une odeur de pin.

Il y a un grand patio entourant la propriété pour profiter des vues en constante évolution de San Francisco et du mont. Tam. Et malgré le cadre montagneux, il n'y a qu'un mile en voiture jusqu'à la pittoresque place de la ville de Mill Valley.

Cette retraite d'artiste confortable est située au début d'un sentier de randonnée qui vous mènera jusqu'à la plage de Stinson (si vous avez l'énergie) ou aussi près que le petit ruisseau à environ 800 mètres le long de la piste d'incendie.

Une grande cheminée, des sols en terrazzo, des antiquités éclectiques et d'intéressants livres anciens ... C'est vraiment une retraite que vous souhaitiez rester sur place et vous détendre, naviguer ou faire du vélo de montagne, découvrir la petite ville de Mill Valley ou explorer les nombreux sites de San Francisco.

This is a truly unique property with outstanding views of San Francisco Bay and more. Lots of history behind the property and “retro”decor. The downside with original everything is it comes with old smells, not terrible but important for anyone thinking about renting the property. If that doesn’t bother you this place is truly “high on hill” over looking the city, Alcatraz, the Bay Bridge and so much more. The property has outside areas surrounding it that let you relax. Clean, complete, easy and absolutely stunning view!

This mid-century modern home combines charm, generous space and all you could need for kitchen conveniences with one of the most stunning views of San Francisco you could ever hope for. Situated in the hills above Mill Valley (adorable, lots of fun shops and restaurants), it’s convenient for Muir Woods and the surrounding area. Susan has everything conveniently labelled within to help you utilize all it has to offer. We loved the main room (gas) fireplace - perfect for cool nights. Like so much of the surrounding area, the roads to get here are twisty, turny but we managed even in a huge SUV. Loved it!

A very pleasant Stay

My wife and I were in town for a Celebration of Life for an old and dear friend. We both enjoyed the mid-century vibe of the house. It was very clean and very well equipped. The only complaint was the narrowness of the public road up to the house. The owners can’t be held responsible for that. Just drive slow and carefully. The home manager was always quickly responsive to any questions we may have had. The views from the property were gorgeous!

Perfect stay!

The property had everything and more. Great history (it was fun reading about the family lore); great view (we watched the ever changing weather over the bay and San Francisco skyline, with fog, sun and clouds (really cool to see the tops of the skyscrapers above the fog); and great feel (the house has a great energy). It was fun to walk out out of the house and take the hike up the mountain and then down to the creek with the amazing redwoods. Would definitely stay again.

Fun Mid Century Modern home. Susan was great to work with, she was quick to respond any time we communicated. We would have liked to spend more time at the house but we had a pretty packed schedule. The house was comfortable and well equipped. The view was amazing day and night.

Peaceful Gem!

We loved the charm and uniqueness of this home with top marks for the view and outdoor spaces! I could sit on the patio forever! The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. My teens loved looking through the extensive book collection and we even played a couple records on the turntable! Susan was super easy to work with & accommodated us for an extra night. My only feedback is that b/c there isn't traditional HVAC systems in the home, the air is a bit stale & dusty. We opened windows & put on the fans which helped. Perhaps the curtains could be laundered to freshen things up a bit as well? All in all, we enjoyed staying here and visiting the surrounding areas for the "nature" portion of our vacation. Thanks for having us!

All the vibes!

This house was not only amazing but also so interesting. The decor and construction makes you feel like you stepped into another time. The bedding and towels were of great quality. The house and kitchen were very well stocked for cooking, entertainment, and relaxing. We had our 5 year old daughter and it was very comfortable for families. We all enjoyed the books, unique decor, and bright windows all around. Our favorite part was the record player. It made the whole vibe complete! The view was the most breathtaking. We really enjoyed having meals outside and exploring all the little areas around the yard. The drive up the mountain was easy and the owner was very descriptive on how to access the property so it was breeze. We even had some deer greet us when we arrived lol. We will definitely make plans to stay here again, as we love San Fran and this house is centrally located to our favorite spots downtown, Napa, and The Muir Woods. Mill valley was a great little town to visit for coffee, little shops, and grocery shopping. Til next time!

Wonderful stay in Mill Valley

The house of Susan is an exquisite combination of a very comfortable interior with an exceptional view on SF bay from the terrace of the garden. House is nicely equiped with stylish furnitures and modern kitchen. Beds are extra comfortable. The surroundings are extremely quiet. South terrace and garden are facing the bay while from the North terrace you have Mount Tamalpais facing you. Trails are passing right along the garden. Mill valley village is a 5 minutes drive with all neceassry shops and restaurants. SF downtown is 20mns drive. Sausalito ferries are also very convenient to reach the city with a nice sea trip. Susan is extrememy reactive and does her best to make your stay perfect. A great souvenir. No doubt we will come again. Pierre

We were in Mill Valley for a celebration of life and we were pleasantly surprised with our stay, the house and view are so incredible, you really can’t get a sense for how special it’s is until you’re there in person. Highly recommend!

Perfect Stay

Outstanding from top to bottom. This property and the host are perfect. If you like mid century modern architecture this is the place for you. Relaxing, private, conveniently located but out of the way- I could go on and on. A little tricky getting up the hill to the residence but the view more than compensates for this and cannot be adequately put into words. I've been traveling for almost 50 years and cant think of a better overall place to stay. This house really made the trip superlative. Would stay here anytime.

Impeccably decorated custom Mid Century Modern in Beautiful Nature Setting

This dream home was built with cutting-edge architectural details, even by today’s standards, with furnishings and garden spaces to compliment the perfect union of indoor-outdoor living. The house was clean, comfortable, and I appreciated that the kitchen has stainless steel pots and pans in good condition. My only change would add a screen door in the kitchen. Communication was equally impeccable.
