Great place to stay

We had an awesome experience staying at 5079 "on the rocks". The location was on the beachside of the complex. It also was a short walk to the pool. Real Joy representatives contact me throughout the week to ensure our stay was 5 star. The best of all was having access to the golf cart. We used it numerous times to get around the complex. I will definitely book again. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

This property is advertised as a 5-star experience, but I would rate it as a solid 3 stars.There were several issues during our stay: the bikes had flat tires and were unusable, the grill had not been cleaned, and there was leftover food in the fridge. The dryer took all night to dry a few beach towels, and we found sand and trash under the sofa cushions. Both bathtubs had hair clogs, and there was hair left on the walls. Additionally, we noticed the neighbors using our golf cart charging cord.That said, the service team and customer support staff were truly exceptional, prompt, courteous, and very responsive. I was refunded for the inconveniences, which I greatly appreciated. Their professionalism made a disappointing experience much more manageable.

Overall a great stay aside from a few issues

We had a great stay at this location! The main problem was that the golf cart was not available because it was getting repaired. The property manager offered to split the cost to rent one, but no one rents golf carts to Sandestin because of the rules of the resort. The property manager did their best to remedy the situation, and they did a great job communicating back and forth with us about what steps they were taking. Ultimately, we did not have a golf cart for our stay which makes navigating Sandestin tricky (and makes your vehicle quite sandy). The rental company did a nice job following up upon departure and did a partial refund for the inconvenience, which was greatly appreciated. The house was nice but very sandy. (We know it is a beach house, but questioned how much cleaning happened between guests beyond linen changes etc.) The location is great and the kitchen was stocked with everything we could need.

Great location

On the rocks villa was a great place to stay. The location on the san destin property was one of the best that we've stayed at. The communication with rental company was quick and easy. They were very responsive and also very on top of sending info about check in, codes needed and check out process. The condo was very clean and very well stocked with everything we needed (like extra towels, toilet paper, etc) the tv downstairs is a smart tv, the ones in the bedrooms are not (that i could tell, but that was fine) the beds with the toppers were comfortable but worn down some, the matresses could use flipping or upgrades. The only downside was the golf cart. The front seat had (and has for awhile) rusted out and we got to be the "lucky" ones that it finally snapped on. We had barely sat in the seat to back out our first day there and it broke completely. We were disappointed about not being able to use it but totally understand that the sea air takes its toll on these things. The management company was very helpful and responsive on the updates of the golf cart and refunding our money pd for the golf cart. Even though having the gold cart to use was a major reason why we rented this condo, and we didnt have use if it, we would definitely stay here again because of the location, the management company, and the overall condo itself. It was large enough for our family of 4, and would have been plenty big enough for a couple more to stay with us as well!

Investment Property

This rental was somewhat what we were looking for considering the price, location and beachside. It’s definitely dated… The drapes in the den area need to be replaced with something nicer. The golf cart done its job but needs some cleaning on the seats or replaced. It’s very rusty. Thankfully we brought our own pillows for comfort as the beds wasn’t very comfortable.

Great Sandestin Getaway

The property was very clean and had 2 bikes so we didnt have to rent any. The Sandestin resort is about as good as it gets. We will be back for sure.

Spring break fun 🌞

Such a beautiful property, so clean and perfect location! The pool is heated which was nice for chilly day. Walked in to smooth jazz playing 👌 set the tone for a relaxing and fun getaway! Will definitely book again!

Wonder place to stay!

The house was clean and smelled wonderful. The colors inside the house was inviting and relaxing. The refrigerator was clean/spotless. Easy interaction with Joy Reality. Easy access to the pond and pool. We used the golf cart to go to the beach and Baytown. Wonderful place.

As advertised, photos are accurate. Location is great. Golf cart access makes the stay so pleasurable. Park you car and don't need to use it until you leave if you dont want to. There were some maintenance items cited to property management; however nothing that impeded our stay. Management were prompt to respond and thankful for the citations.

Perfect location and amenities for family vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our time and stay at On the Rocks. We had easy access to a beautiful beach and multiple pools, the golf cart was so helpful getting us back and forth. The house had everything we needed for meals in and the back patio was a perfect location to end the evening.

Stay on the Rocks

The town home was nice and clean. A few things that we feel are important while on vacation were not available: the TV is NOT a smart TV and we were not able to connect to AMAZON PRIME VIDEO, NETFLIX or HULU, the TV was not connected to the internet. It will allow you to CAST from your laptop or mobile device, BUT ONLY if you are on a GOOGLE platform, it will not allow you to CAST from an IPhone or a MacBook, this was very disappointing. This is coming from a couple that aren't into hanging out in bars and prefer to chill and watch a good movie. The shower is very awkward to get in and out of because of the positioning of the door, the handle is also disconnected from the tile and feels as if it's about to break. The outside patio furniture is NASTY, and the grill looks as if it has never been cleaned, bugs were all over the inside and all the grilling tools were also covered with nasty bugs...very disappointing after buying steaks to throw on the grill. The master king size bed is bumpy and uncomfortable, the sheets were too small and kept coming off the corners during the night. The golf cart was a nice addition, the pool very nice and the community is in a great area with plenty of amenities. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but will not return to this particular unit.

Convenience all the way around!

I have stay at this property twice now. What I love most is that all of the condominiums are ground level. This is such an added bonus with small children. You can’t beat having a 6 seater golf cart included with this price. Although it’s not beach front property, the view is still beautiful. The property is very quiet and the pool was never crowded. Great location and everything we could possibly need was accessible with the golf cart. Will definitely visit again next year!

Great stay!

We had a great stay. The house was nice and the perfect setup for our family. The golf cart worked great and was very nice to have to get around the resort and to get to the beach. We would definitely stay here again. We didn’t receive the code to the key box for the golf cart key upon arrival which was annoying to have to call the office and wait on hold for 30 minutes to get the code to be able to use the golf cart, but otherwise, everything else was great!

Dissatisfaction

A golf cart was advised and when we got there we were told the golf cart was not available. The location was far from everything and needed the golf cart to get around easy. Had to load up in a vehicle every time we wanted to go somewhere. I was the one who had to make all the phone calls regarding the golf cart and never heard back from anyone on it. Next time we will stay elsewhere.

Overall good stay except for golf cart issues

Overall it was an excellent stay. The condo was very nicely decorated and the furniture in the living room was comfortable as were all the beds. Kitchen is well stocked. The location to the beach was good, however the unit is close to the highway so at night you can hear the highway noise and the traffic on Sandestin Blvd if you have the windows open. There are a few things noted that could be improved upon either by maintenance of the property manager or by the owner. All of these items I sent to the Management company prior to checkout. The Management Company was responsive. 1. The owner has added an additional comfy chair and ottoman to the living room; changed out the shower curtain in the bath/tub to a sliding glass door; and changed the patio table and chairs. None of these are noted in the pictures. 2. The key to the golf cart is kept in a lock box and the code was not sent to us with the code to the door. This required a phone call to the management company upon our arrival. 3. The Golf Cart has issues as mentioned in previous reviews. The prior renters had to have it towed because it ran out of battery (told to us by a representative of the management company). Thus it would not start for us because it was still in "tow" mode with the batteries switched off (located under the second row of seats). So we didn't have use of the cart until noon the day after we checked in. Also the batteries drain very quickly in this cart and when it gets down to 50% you don't have much pick up power. I could barely get up the tunnel hill under the highway. The driver's side mirror doesn't stay in place and the battery plug in box on the cart is loose and about to fall apart. 3. The drain in the tub/shower requires one to manually hold the lever down and the tub fills with water when showering. This is very inconvenient when you are done with your shower you have to stand there bent over holding the lever down. This too was mentioned by a previous guest. 4. The dryer makes a squeaking sound and takes FOREVER to dry even a small load. I broke our washer load into two separate dryer loads and it still took over an hour plus for each dryer load to finish. 5. The patio sliding glass door and screen need some work. They are difficult to slide. Some of these are easy fixes and some probably require money (i.e. golf cart) so hopefully the owners are willing to make the necessary repairs.
