Spectator view

We very much enjoyed our time here. The house was big enough for 6 adults and 2 kiddos. Little ones loved the beach. Appreciated the use of boats. Basement added more living space and was not "basementy" because of the windows and doors. and doors overlooking the lake.

Williams Lake Retreat

The Lakehouse Paradise certainly lived up to its name. Our family of 4 adults found this a welcome retreat from the real world. From the moment we arrived and looked out from the deck, we knew that this is just what we needed. We took advantage of the kayaks, paddleboat and canoe as well as our floating loungers and snorkels. We really appreciate how clean (free of weeds) the lake is. Watching the weed harvester kept us fascinated for more than an hour. This lake is so peaceful and full of wildlife. We had deer and cranes right on the beach. Our bird app identified over 15 different species by sound. At night we lit a fire and gazed at the stars that we can't see at home. We ventured out to hike Observatory Hill and around Ennis Lake at John Muir County Park. The vintage movie theater in Montello is a gem. We enjoyed pizza and beer at Rendezvous / Montello Brewing Co. The 5 falls downtown are also cool. The house had everything we could have asked for as well and we didn't even have time to use the hot tub. We look forward to trying this next time. We will definitely be back. Seth is a wonderful host. Very responsive. Even to butt dials!

Comfortable lakefront

Clean, well-stocked house with a lovely lake view in a very quiet neighborhood. Two floors, with an easy main-level option for folks with mobility issues. The home decor would be most appealing to hunting, fishing, and Christian renters.

Family getaway for son’s wedding

Our family stayed at this property to be near our son’s wedding venue and we were not disappointed! The view of the lake was beautiful and the area is private and peaceful. With 3 bedrooms and 3 baths it was perfect. House was very well stocked in all areas. The owners were so responsive and a pleasure to deal with. We loved our time there!

Great Getaway

We loved staying at the lake house. We found the perfect property for us. It's so great, I don't want others to know about it so I can rent it again next year! The house was super clean and comfortable. I loved that we had wifi as I did have to do a little bit of work while I was there. I was able to connect easily. I was looking for a house right on the lake, that had a beach for the kids. The beach and dock were also super clean and well-maintained. It was so nice to be able to just grab a kayak and go out on the water. And the lake and neighborhood was practically deserted during the week. There were days when I was certain I was the only one on the lake, and had been for hours. My only complaint was the weed harvesting boat came into the bay one day and just made noise for hours. It's nothing that could be prevented by the homeowners, but it was a little irritating. We loved everything about this house: laundry access, beach access, enough room for the whole family. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Vacation Escape

Our family really enjoyed our time here. The house was beautiful and extremely clean, which was nice with toddlers walking about and crawling on the floors. All the amenities you could want are provided. So quiet and serene. The communication with manager was excellent. Williams lake was amazing! Just big enough to enjoy kayaking and paddle boating! Fish are biting and my grandchildren loved catching them. My favorite was the hammock swing! We will be back next summer for sure.

Family fun

We rented this for Memorial Day weekend to get the family together. We have 2 young kids and were able to have a blast given the great bed room layouts. The fish were biting which is always fun too!

Montello Lakehouse

A great getaway for our family. The lake was perfect for our family - not too intimidating for our toddlers and not too small for those who wanted to explore a bit. The toddlers really enjoyed the sand beach as well as our excursions on the paddle boats and kayaks that were so generously provided. The house itself was welcoming and very well supplied - we particularly appreciated the well stocked kitchen and inviting deck.

Perfect Lakehouse Paradise for Family Get-Away

This is truly a gem of a property...It had everything we were looking for in a lakehouse vacation with our two kids, ages 6 and 3. The home was well-appointed, extremely clean, and well-maintained. We used the spacious kitchen for cooking and were never lacking for utensils, bowls, etc. We enjoyed our meals on the deck, with a lovely view of the lake. The beach was great for sand play and allowed for easy access to the water for our kids, who loved watching small fish swim in the shallow water. Seth, the property manager, was incredibly helpful and very thorough in his preparation and communication. He responded to any questions promptly during our trip, as well. He generously shared his fishing gear and got us started with a lesson. Our daughter loved catching bluegill off the pier! We had a lot of fun exploring the lake in the kayaks, canoe, and paddle boat that were provided with the home, and the lake is usually quite peaceful. We enjoyed walking historic Montello and took a nice hike at John Muir County Park. This is pretty much a perfect lake-house for a summer get-away, and we hope to return next summer!

Ultimate Relaxation

Professionalism and perfection from start to finish. Seth was so accommodating for our multiple arrival times with taking temps, which was greatly appreciated. Beach and lake were perfect for families, especially with our 1 and 4 year olds. House was immaculate and the surround sound was a hit for movies. If you want a place to party, this is not for you. This is a nice, quiet lake. Thank you for sharing and we will be back!!

Much needed North woods getaway

Loved it! Great, attentive hosts. Clean, spacious, recently updated home with a great view of the lake. We stayed for two nights with our kids who skied at Cascade and one other couple. It was a perfect getaway.

Great Getaway

This house was perfect for our annual ski weekend/winter getaway. It was the perfect amount of space for 4 adults and 4 children. The house is taken care of very well and the owners were great. We all had fun inside and out with the game room and outdoor ice rink and sledding. It was also a short drive to Cascade Mountain. Great spot!

Perfect getaway

From the moment we arrived, our hostess made us feel incredibly welcomed and comfortable. The house is appointed with everything you need to enjoy your stay. From being greeted with personalized treats upon arrival to a sweet birthday cake and card, you will not receive better hospitality from a 5 star hotel. I have come to see the owners as friends, and they treat you as such. There is a well stocked grocery store less than 10 minutes away, but bring cash for Main St. dining, as the stores do not accept credit or debit cards!!! I know you'll enjoy your stay as much as we did!!!!

Exactly what we needed!

We had an excellent time at the Lake house. The home was immaculate, well located, on a lovely lake and had everything we needed and more. Our hosts couldn't have been more pleasant and friendly. Rarely do we say "we need to come back here" but we're all making plans already for our next return. It's a perfect drive for a weekend or more and the lake offers the best of all seasons. Thank you for having us, we look forward to our next visit.

I would have given them 5 stars if they had internet access. My grandson had to do his homework and my oldest son owns his own business and needed internet. They both had to leave for a while to access internet.

Hidden Treasure

What a lovely spot for an escape during these crazy times. My BFF and I enjoyed the well-appointed and clean lake home and exploring the area. There is more to see and do around Montello than one would think. Our hosts Marianne and Seth couldn't have done more to make our stay pleasurable.

Life is better at the lake!

This property is exactly as described. Located on a perfect sized lake with kayaks and paddle boats for our use. The owners are kind and generous! Our weather did not cooperate with us (at all) but there are plenty of things to do at the nearby Dells. The only thing that we missed was cable T.V. and internet. This probably would not have been a problem if the sun was shining. Life is definitely better at the lake!!

Labor Day Weekend Getaway

Our family couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful weekend! The house was immaculate and had everything we could possibly need and then some. Fishing/Sunset/Stars/Peaceful Weekend Getaway

Must visit if you want to get away from city lifestyles. The homeowners made the experience on another level. Super friendly and sweet family. This was the best airbnb experience my party had. Beautiful lake views for sunset and star gazing. My group mainly went there to fish and they offer complimentary use of their fishing rods, kayaks, canoes and paddle boats. That was a plus for us along with the campfire. We were offer a complimentary sunset cruise on the owners pontoon too. I especially love the rustic interior feel of the home. Entire place is very well maintained and clean. We all had such a great time! We will definitely book again and share this hidden gem with our friends and family. Thank you for having us!
