Thank you for complementing our gym and pool. We are one of the only properties in Moshi that boasts an extensive gym so I’m glad that you were able to enjoy it. As for our location, you have so rightfully noted that we are located approximately 2 kms from Moshi town centre which is just a few minutes drive away. We are blessed with our location as we are away from the noisy hustle and bustle of Moshi yet close enough if one did decide to be a part of it with restaurants, bars, nightclubs, shops and other amenities being only a few minutes drive away. But this small distance is enough for the beautiful skies of Moshi to shine through. Sometimes we become so engrossed in our daily lives we forget to enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds us. Thank you for reminding us that our beautiful skies exist and we need to look up and admire it once in a while. We, and the skies above Ameg Lodge, await your return. Asante Sana!

Thank you so much for this wonderful review. However, it comes to me as a disappointment and I do apologise that you were not entirely satisfied with our breakfast service. Being a family-run accommodation in a small mountain climbing and trekking town of Moshi, we still try extremely hard to ensure that our guests have a positive experience at our facility. Our breakfast buffet consists of a variety of fresh fruit, a variety of breads (brown bread, white bread, bread rolls, and now even croissants), Weetabix, cornflakes, hot porridge (oats), a variety of eggs (boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, and omelettes), sausages, chargrilled tomatoes, fried potatoes, baked beans, a green salad, pancakes, mandazi (a form of local Tanzanian doughnut), cake, a variety of 6 different teas, coffee, a variety of 4-6 flavours of juices including a fresh juice of the day, and various condiments such as chocolate sauce and honey for the pancakes, strawberry syrup, butter, and jam. At an additional cost, guests can order parathas (Indian bread), and masala tea. I thank you once again for this constructive criticism and I hope you will choose to stay at Ameg Lodge Kilimanjaro on your next visit to Moshi.

Thank you for your review. We are disappointed that you felt that we charged you extra at check in. Your reservation came to us as 1 guest and you were charged on Expedia for 1 guest. However when you arrived at reception you were indeed two guests as you rightfully mentioned above. To assist you our reception staff asked you to pay the difference in the room rate for 1 person and the room rate for 2 guests. I am sorry that you felt that you could utilise our facilities for two of you at the price of only 1 of you. I am also sorry that you felt that we misled you. I personally spoke to your wife at reception who was completely understanding and accepting so it comes to us as quite a surprise that you felt that we charged you more. I request you to check once again our published rates. Our rates are very transparent and there are no hidden charges. We have a separate rate for a single room (1 person) and a separate rate for a twin/double room (2 persons). We are a very reputable lodge in Moshi and above all will never charge a guest for something that we have not advertised. In this case as you yourself have mentioned above that there were two of you (you and your wife) but your reservation was for only 1 person. Please assist us in understanding how this was wrong of us. If you feel that we have indeed not adhered to our pricing policy I am willing to offer a full refund on the basis that we have wrongfully charged you the 2 guest room rate.

Thank you for your review and the kind words. The noise in the neighbourhood bar that you referred to is actually music being swept up to our area all the way from Moshi Town centre. This is the case for all over the surroundings of Moshi as it is a very small town, and during the late evening there is no traffic or other sounds to drown the sounds of loud music from various night bars in the town centre. We are in that respect extremely blessed that we are 2 kms out of town and so the sounds of town are not as loud as a lot of the other hotels in Moshi. We are able to boast a quiet and serene location compared to other Moshi hotels and lodges. Please also note that our pool closure notification is published on our page on Expedia. I am sorry that you missed this. However, we hope that we will see you back in Moshi and that our pool will be ready during your next visit.
