The views from this home are stunning and the easy beach access were a huge plus. The unit was very clean upon arrival. The primary bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed being able to look at the view from the large sectional in the living room. The deck was also very enjoyable when the weather cooperated. However, this home has several maintenance issues particularly in the bathrooms that need to be addressed. We will forward the specifics to the owners as I do think with a small amount of effort they can be rectified easily. We ended up with half of our group not being able to join us, so with just the 2 of us we were able to work around them and still had a decent time but if the house had been full it would have been much more of a challenge. I do not think the kitchen is particularly well stocked for a large group (only 2 large coffee cups) the rest were plastic and very small and not a ton of bowls, cups, etc. Just something to keep in mind if you plan to eat in a lot. We were visiting in-laws so again were able to work around kitchen limitations as we had a 2nd place to eat and prepare food. If the maintenance issues could be addressed we would definitely consider renting the property again.

Great view and easy access to beach. Only 2 of us but would accommodate several people if you don’t mind close quarters. Instructions needed to use tv’s. We never could get the large tv connected to a network. Need new cookware and baking pans. One hairdryer did not work.

We loved our stay at Hugo's Revenge. We plan to stay there again. The house had everything we needed to have a great stay. We were able to sit on the sectional sofa and watch the sunrise every morning. The house is surrounded on three sides with lush horticulture making the views both beautiful and private. Sitting on the deck you can imagine you are on remote beach. The beds were very comfortable. The house was well stocked with linens cooking utensils. We have rented many beachfront vacation houses in our lifetime and this is one our favorites.

The location of this property was the highlight. Being right on the beach and getting to wake up to the amazing views every morning was perfection. The house was fine, does it need some updates? Yes.But even so, we enjoyed our vacation.

Fantastic property. Truly a well-furbished rental with higher-than-average cleanliness standards. Only minor complaints - shower heads could be updated to provide better flow/power, and the outside hose could be updated. That said, the reat of the property is fantastic and I'll be trying to rent here again. Simply the best of MB that I've seen to date. Also, the owners are highly responsive (I made a call to them and they responded immeditately - awesome! - of note, not a property issue per se - I messed something up (door code)). Cannot give this place enough stars. Cheers!

Ocean Front -Didn’t Disappoint

This house was a wonderful place to stay. All we had to do was walk from the porch down to the beach. It was so convenient as far as going back to the house if you needed to. We loved the family room -enough for all 10 of us! The front room with the twin over a full bed bunk bed and another full bed was great for the older kids.We really enjoyed the porch in the mornings for coffee and later after the beach in the evenings!It was the best spots we have ever vacationed.Thank you so much to the owner who were very prompt in answering our calls!

A Wonderful Stay at Hugo Revenge

My family of 5, including my three young-adult children, had an absolutely wonderful week at Hugo Revenge in July. Being right on the beach was terrific....30 seconds from bed to beach. The location on the beach was also great. It wasn't crowded, but it was less than a mile's walk on the beach from the house to the boardwalk. The home was just the right size for us, and it was well appointed. The covered back porch was particularly nice. We used it a lot, from eating, to relaxing, to card playing on the big table. We would definitely go back!

Great Location - Needs maintenance and updates

I really wanted to love this place. It was expensive and a big investment in a vacation. Murrells Inlet does not disappoint and the beach is amazing. The house, well.... not so much. Overall the facilities are just not up to snuff even for a beach house where you allow some latitude. Bathrooms need renovations,(tubs are not attractive or appear really clean and the moldings are all chipped and swollen); some of the full-size mattresses are terrible, kitchen pots and pans scorched, missing silverware, insufficient coffee cups, the dining room table so tight on the couch you have to re-arrange the furniture to get by and we are not large people. The outdoor grill has not been properly cleaned (drip pan 3" deep with fat and scrapings) so when grilling, you end up with a bon-fire. 3 rusty beach chairs and 2 plastic strap lounges for a 4 bedroom house is unacceptable as was the dross and garbage bits left in the parking area under the house. We watched the cleaning lady leave at 4 pm without addressing some basic tidying up on the property. Fridge ice dispenser is broken and as one other customer noted, on hot days, the A/C cannot keep up (and we had all the sliders and windows closed). Air return duct and ceiling fans are dirty. If you are neat freak like our family, these things are noticed. What did we love?? The beach access and size of the kitchen. Clean towels and blankets/pillows a-plenty and the washer/drier combo was clutch. Would I go back for the price? No.

Family Spring Vacation

Beautiful views, private beach. Plenty of parking. House was nicer than the listing. Weather helped but that porch was one of the best we ever experienced! Great for families with littles. Only suggestion would be a gate at the top of the stairs to keep the kids safe on the porch.

Total Relaxation

The house was just the right size for the four of us. I loved that the living space, kitchen and bedrooms/baths were all on one level. The porch, facing the ocean, was WONDERFUL! Runs the width of the house, open sides and front but roof covered. Since it rained every day we were there (8/20 - 27), the porch was a lifesaver. I didn't even mind the rain! I highly recommend this property for its convenience to the beach, cleanliness, and best view of the ocean. Kitchen was well stocked with the necessary cookware and supplies.

No Regrets

There were eleven of us and it was the perfect size inside and out. Loved, loved, loved the lay out of the kitchen and living area, however the porch and beach lay out was even better. I was able to walked to the pier every morning with my adults children. PARADISE

Location location location

The location is perfection and the house was exactly what our group, all adult family members, needed. The back porch is phenomenal ~ truly the best feature of this home! We didn’t have any contact with the host/property manager because we didn’t need to. Upon arrival things were as advertised. Kitchen, while very large and functional, is cluttered and somewhat unorganized. That made for a challenge storing the provisions we’d brought. As has been mentioned previously, the house could use a deep cleaning. Dusty fans, floorboards and windowsills. The threshold from the kitchen to the laundry room is detached, should be re-secured. Great to have the washer and dryer but there is mold on the seal of the dryer door … gross. The master bedroom bed was terribly uncomfortable. I’d replace it if I owned the property. There are 2 “bag chair” beach chairs, which we knew in advance of arrival and we brought extras along with beach towels that are not provided ~ just FYI. Final thought … we’d rent it again without hesitation (if the master bed has been replaced)!!!

Nice location.

The house was right on the beach which was beautiful. The house could have been cleaner, and lacked beach chairs, beach towels, and a hairdryer. The supply of shampoo and conditioner for 8 people was the hotel size which wouldn't have lasted. However everyone had a great time.

Extended stay, a very beautiful area!

The house is very roomy has all what you need for an extended stay. The area is beautiful right on the beach. It provided a wonderful stay for us. It just needs a deep cleaning things definitely weren’t cleanly. Overall we had a great time. Communication was top notch.
