We totally enjoyed our time there. The hotel was private, beautiful and just wonderful. The owner joined us in the breakfast room and discussed what we had planned that day. He added his knowledge. We loved it. We felt special and he was enjoying us too. That is a perfect blend. We loved the central location. We could drive quickly What a gorgeous holiday!

Beautiful & Open-Hearted

We enjoyed our stay very much. The team is friendly, attentive and helpful. Loggia Mariposa is handsome and inviting. The location of the hotel is quiet, which was just the thing for us. By bus you could easily reach all other destinations.

Maltas most loveliest boutique hotel ever!

Warm welcome, nice people, comfotable beds, neat bathrooms, overwhelming beauty of every tiny space in this house, best breakfast, first class service at a normal budget level. We will come back!

Very nice hotel in an typical maltese house

The hotel is a carefully renovated typical maltese house. Although Expedia forwarded the owner the wrong number of persons (2 instead of 3) we soon had a room with an extra bed great enough for us three. The atmosphere was very personal and we got advice for everything we needed. The city of Naxxar offers several nice restaurants and gives an insight in the live of maltese people.

a real gem.

We had a fabulous time. The delightful , quirky , fascinating place was cosy and very comfortable. Spotlessly clean and gorgeous. Our host , Peter was so friendly and helpful. Joseph also went out of his way to help with minor problem at airport with luggage. The breakfasts were delicious, plenty of choice and fresh and appetising. All in all, a wonderful place to stay. Thank you so much.

This boutique hotel is amazing. Jozef and his team make you feel so welcome and are helpful in every way. The property itself is one of the most amazing buildings I’ve ever seen in the best location in Malta and the attention to detail and Artifacts found around the hotel are just mesmerising. If I could fault anything it would only be that sometimes you couldn’t park nearby and had to walk 5 minutes around the corner. But the area is amazing and you never tire walking past such beautiful architecture. If I go back to Malta this is where I want to be. One word AMAZING. SASHA & DONALD ESSEX

It is a unique boutique hotel and the people are excellent - very customer focused and very knowledgable about things to do around Malta. The place is spotless. The breakfast is lovely. Would highly recommend staying there.

Nice hotel

Very nice hotel, with excellent service. The area around the hotel is quite calm and relax, so if you are on a party trip, you should go somewhere else. The beds where quite small for someone my size, my feet kept sticking out on the bottom:) But service is excellent and breakfast was good.

+++: Loggia Mariposa est une propriété superbe, aux vieilles pierres de 400 ans, entretenues et décorées avec goût et soin! L'endroit est vraiment magnifique, chaleureux et convivial...un peu comme à la maison ! Josef et Peter sont aux petits soins pour leurs hôtes, à donner leurs conseils, à partager leur connaissance sur leur pays! Ils sont top, Merci! Le petit déjeuner est génial, généreux et gourmand! Peter est à l'écoute pour faire plaisir Plusieurs arrêts de bus à proximité desservent les points stratégiques de l'île ; nous n'avions pas de voiture et nous avons pourtant visiter les principaux points d'attraction de l'île depuis Naxxar! -: s'il faut trouver un point négatif, ça serait la légère humidité de la chambre due aux vieilles pierres... mais avec la fenêtre entrouverte, tout va bien ! Du coup, nous y retournerons avec plaisir pour un prochain voyage à Malte !

The Loggia Mariposa is a gem, a beautiful & quirky house hidden down a tiny ancient alleyway. We absolutely loved our stay there & would thoroughly recommend it. Peter & Joseph are great hosts & if we return to Malta we would stay there again.

Welcome to Malta

Charming bespoke hotel situated in a quiet cul de sac in Naxxar. Josef and Peter are the most welcoming hosts and take great pride in ensuring that you enjoy your stay. Full of information on local buses, places to eat and recommendations on places to visit. The hotel is full of character and the owners have certainly put their mark on an already fantastic building. There’s a lovely sun terrace on two levels on the roof also a plunge pool with seating by it. Breakfast is a fine selection of cold meats and cheeses, with cakes, breads selection of teas and coffee. Local area has a number of fine eating eateries and the main centre is a 30 minute bus journey away, buses run virtually 24 hours to some areas. Our hosts are simply fantastic and offer the best in Maltese hospitality

The place to be in Malta!

A lovely traditional town house in the very center of the island, well decorated and very comfortable. Jozef and Peter are exquisite hosts, always keen to give advice on sightseeing, bus lines, beaches, etc. They help you avoid the crowd and discover the Maltese way of life. For a pleasant and relaxing stay in Malta, you must stay there!

Best service I have ever receieved.

The building is situated down a beautifully kept side alley, close to local transport and must see sights. The building is 400 years old, immaculately kept and has been restored tastefully. The room was well sized with a huge double bed, which could be split into to singles, arched ceilings and exposed stone walls. There is a swimming pool, roof top terrace with lovely views and common room. The host was very tentative throughout our stay. He gave us the historical background of the building, information, maps and guides for sites, along with arranging transport and additional help when needed. He went out of his way to ensure excellent service and that our stay was amazing!! I can't sing enough praise about this place. Its a hidden gem and this will definitely be my go to when i return to Malta. Thank you ^.^

Gear ned og nyd den afslappende atmosfære og de enestående omgivelser. Loggia Mariposa er for os nu synonym med afslapning og gode oplevelser. Hospitality second to none

Fantastic 3 night stay, we felt really welcome and at home. On arrival Joszef took the time to greet us with a highly informative overview of the area, practical info on getting around, maps, guides, walks, etc - the most useful orientation we’ve ever had. It’s altogether a lovely old property, cosy and charming. The outdoor spaces (patio and roof terrace) are secluded and quiet. Breakfast was delicious (ham and cheese omelette deserves a special mention). An appreciated detail was the free water cooler - much better than buying big bottles from shops. Couple of tiny points only about our ground floor room. Some shelf space nearer the bathroom mirror would have been ideal, for contact lens users especially! I did also miss having a full length mirror in the room. We didn’t have enough time to explore the immediate local area fully, but did dine locally at two restaurants recommended by Joszef, which were both lovely. Naxxar is well situated for bus access to more touristy areas, and perfect for a quiet base to retreat to afterwards. Cannot recommend the Loggia Mariposa highly enough, you will not find better hospitality anywhere.

A Gem in Naxxar

Peter's welcome was just the beginning of an awesome stay at Loggia Mariposa. Rooms are comfortable with bathroom amenities, wifi, bottled water, coffee/tea service, comfortable linens and beds, and charming furniture within the old stone walls of this Malta inn. The guest areas include a small plunge pool, a rooftop terrace, an inviting sitting room, and a breakfast area where you will enjoy Peter's homebaked goodies as well as fruit, meats and cheeses, cereals and yogurts, and eggs to order. Peter and owner, Jozef, are always ready to advise on your daily touring plans, talk about your favorite spots, and recommend ones you haven't heard of yet! With chocolates as a sweet good night treat and the privacy of the cul-de-sac, you will have a great night's rest to be ready for the next days' adventure. Do not forget to explore Naxxar...it has a Palazzo, several nice restaurants, a beautiful church, and a well-stocked wine store with wines for the local producers!

Lovely guest house in Naxxar

I arrived late at night at the airport and the driver they arranged for me was waiting, quite helpful and pleasant as we chatted on the way to the house. In the morning, Peter was getting breakfast ready, eager to help me with any questions or breakfast requests. He helped me plan some excursions and called the taxi for me several times. The common spaces are lovely, decorated in traditional European decor. The central atrium allows in beautiful light and the rooftop patio was a nice place to hang out in the evening. My room was large, with a king-sized bed, wardrobe and large bathroom. I would highly recommend this place.

Amazing stay in quaint town with the kindest hosts

Simply an amazing experience. Peter and Jozef are wonderful hosts who make you feel welcome and provide information and an ideal base for your Maltese adventure. Naxxar is an absolutely lovely town with the kindest people I could have imagined. Selected Naxxar because of its ideal location to explore the island, but it was a real treat in and of itself. I could not recommend Loggia Mariposa more!

Fabulous.

I absolutely loved my stay here, the home from home beautifully reflects the owner, the rooms are breathtakingly stunning, the decor is just lovely, and the staff are just as wonderful. Breakfast is divine, with a selection of fruits, breads an home made banana loafs Courtesy of peter. The pool is small but does the job of cooking u down, the pool area is quite and pretty to relax in and the rooftop terrace was my favourite place to be to watch sunsets, fireworks, and drink a glass of rose at the end of the day. My room was just so comfortable, with a lovely big bed, comfy pillows and a beautiful view into the alleyway (flowers and seating area just outside my window which was beautiful and quite) Zef made me feel welcome in his beautiful home, and i will miss his cheery smile in the morning. Peter is also very welcoming, above helpful and will advise on the best places to go and so on. David is just lovely, his personality stood out and was always so cheery. Vivian and Anna are also very sweet, happy to have a convo with u and help where they can. I can honestly say without a doubt that loggia mariposa is just an enjoyable place to be. Everyone is lovely and I will deffo be back. I miss it already!! Thank you so much for making me feel welcome and valued as a guest, and thank you for being such wonderful people on my stay. Sarina.
