July 4th Weekend

From the moment we arrived, the hosts were exceptional—welcoming us at the gate, giving a thorough tour, and staying attentive throughout our stay. The property itself is stunning, located right on the Guadalupe River and just a short walk to a scenic area under a large Cypress tree, perfect for relaxing in the water. Unfortunately, we faced rain for most of our trip and couldn’t float the river as planned, but the hosts consistently checked in and kept us updated during the flooding. I had planned to propose on July 4th but postponed to the 6th due to the weather. The hosts helped make the moment special by clearing a fallen tree from our path and leaving champagne and glasses for us. Despite the challenges, their kindness made all the difference, and we’re already planning to come back next summer.

Great trip at the cutest cabin

We had a blast on our trip! The cabin was spotless when we arrived and the direct access to the river was so nice. Our 1 year old had plenty of space to run around and the gated location made us feel safe. Mr. Carlton and Mrs. Laura were the sweetest hosts and we enjoyed chatting with them any chance we got. We hope to be back in the future. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Relaxation

Perfect spot on the river! Beautiful trees, flowers, and plenty of wildlife! The new geese are amazing! Carlton and Laura go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Have been a regular since the year they opened their paradise home to outsiders and will continue coming back!

What a Wonderful and Relaxing Property

We had the most amazing and relaxing time at this cabin, three nights was not enough though! Carlton and his wife do everything they can to make you feel welcome and relaxed, and we cannot thank them enough for their hospitality. We will be back next year for our annual river trip!

Fabulous location!

This property was perfect for our family. We had two grandkids with us ages 4 and 8. They loved the large outside area with plenty of room to run and play. Having river access was a huge plus. The owners are more than gracious and very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a relaxing fun get-a-way.

Heaven on the Guadalupe

We always enjoy our stay at this large, beautiful property! Plenty of shade and very peaceful. We love watching the local birds and critters from the patio. The cabin is well-equipped, beautifully landscaped and the owners are very attentive to guests’ needs. Easy, direct access to the river (no rickety docks or ladders). You can drive minutes from the property to launch your tubes and just float back “home,” or you could easily spend your entire stay in the shallows near the cabin. Highly recommend!

River Road Tranquility

What can I say? This is our second time to stay at Blue Bird and definitely will not be the last. The GATED property has everything we need for a comfortable stay and then some. From the relaxing morning hammock naps to the serene and calming sunsets by the river, we just didn’t want to leave!! We’re already making plans to return next summer. The wildlife on the property was such an added bonus! It’s like a self contained nature preserve! This location is also so convenient for floating the river. We put in a few miles up the road at Lazy L and got out right on the property. A good 6 hour float, which is exactly what we wanted. We also grilled dinner on the property that evening thanks to the ready to go grill on the back porch. We played board games in the evening and even binged a few Netflix movies before bed! Carlton and Laura are always wonderful hosts and always so accommodating and helpful.

Perfect Stay

This was our first stay at the Bluebird Cabin on the Guadalupe River. The river current was slow but it was great fun to sit on the bank and watch the tubes and floats drift by. The hosts were wonderful and very helpful.We shared the large grounds of the property with wild deer, rare geese and a sweet puppy who accompanied our hosts. The house had plenty of room for 2 couples plus one child and our grown daughter..The hosts were always available to answer questions about the river, local towns , restaurants and towns in the vicinity.There’s a propane grill and a fire pit and wood to burn . The house does not have a washer or dryer, but I’m sure there are laundromats close..If you’re looking for a great central Texas river experience with Texas hospitality, the Blue Bird Cabin and property is great choice.

Best place on the river

This was the best place we’ve stayed on the river! The hosts were warm and friendly, and it feels like visiting friends. They provide everything you could possibly need to feel at home. Our teens loved all of the animals, wildlife, river access, and basketball court. It was a wonderful, relaxing weekend, and we can’t wait to go back.

Second time we have stayed here. Love the property and host. Ever time we find ourselves in New Braunfels this is where we will stay. Nice house, great yard and easy access to the river. Great for everyone in our party, from age two months to 81.

Our family had the best time!

I can’t say enough good things about this amazing place. We had our family get together for a weekend there was 20 of us kids & adults together on this wonderful property. Lots of room inside and out. The homes were nice and clean, very comfy and spacious. We had a wonderful time at the river tubing, sitting and relaxing in our lawn chairs just enjoying the views. Children had fun on the tennis courts and shooting hoops, playing corn hole. Carlton & Laura our wonderful people who love to share their little piece of Heaven on earth with others . They answered all our questions and was very knowledgeable about the area. We will definitely be coming back next year!!

Perfect family getaway

We absolutely loved staying here! You could not ask for better hosts. Quiet, access to the river, house has everything you need. We loved the peaceful mornings watching the deer, listening to the river flow. The family of geese on the property were definitely a highlight :) From the quiet mornings sipping coffee on the back patio, relaxing in the river during the day, to making s'mores with the fam in the evenings, it was a perfect getaway for us. Fantastic Summer Retreat!

We love it here. This was our second summer in a row renting here, and totally plan to make it an annual family and friends get away spot. Carlton met us at the gate when we arrived, made us a fire each night in the fire pit and was always a pleasure to talk to while we were roaming around the property. Can’t say enough about this spot on the river, and in fact have probably said too much, if I don’t want it to fill up before we can book it again! Thanks for a great 4 day weekend!
