Fun family vacation

This was a great place to have our family. Everything we needed was there. The extensive water toys were a big plus. Lots of indoor games for all ages to use. Great location. We all enjoyed our beach getaway! We plan on booking again for next year. It was easy working with Jeff and he answered any questions we had quickly.

Great experience

The house is great and well maintained. The lake is small enough for younger kids to play and explore safely. We've stayed here several times at this point and always look forward to going here. The welcome binder at the house has good suggestions for local restaurants and grocery stores. You can also just use Google maps. We made good use of the fire pit and charcoal grill. Firewood and charcoal were both fully stocked up by the owner. It's really an enjoyable place to stay.

Everything we needed

I've stayed at my fair share of vrbo's and many of them require an extra run to the grocery store to pick up missing necessities like coffee, or salt- that was not the case here. It helped that the owners really do live here, as we were not wanting for anything. The beach was perfect and full of activities for the kids (our four year old and two teens.) Adults had plenty of space to relax and enjoy. It's close to the Dells area and hiking opportunities so we had a mix of relaxation and getting out. We celebrated my in laws 50th anniversary as a family and they loved every moment- highly recommend!

Rest & Relaxation with Great Beach Area

Recently stayed three nights at this property (Aug 2024), location was fantastic & the beach area was perfect for a family. Jeff (owner) was easy to work with and very accommodating. He's got the house fully stocked, all the way down to wood for your bonfire and K-Pods for your morning coffee. We vacationed with our family of five, along with our dog - and loved the house. We spent most our time swimming, kayaking or paddle boarding and enjoyed having dinner on the elevated deck as the sun set each day. There's a grocery store less than 10-miles away, and Castle Rock Lake is minutes away from the house so if you have a boat or want to rent one, be sure to check it out. If you're looking for a nice, relaxing getaway that's perfect for both young and old, don't hesitate to book Jeff's house - he's a great host and has a great location. Thanks for opening your house to us Jeff!

I Wouldn't Stay Here Unless.....

...unless you love beautifully appointed accommodations with every amenity and then some available, direct and friendly communications with the host, and a relaxing vacation spent with friends and family. This home is immaculate with plenty of space to spread out and enough entertainment choices (indoors and out) to keep everyone happy. Several hiking and picnic opportunities are nearby, should you opt for non water activities, and if you're not cooking, great restaurant choices are also fairly close. Questions are answered promptly and thoroughly. I honestly can't think of any way our experience could be improved upon. Thanks for a wonderful time!

2nd time at the property

Spent the new years hanging out with family relaxing at the cottage. This is the second year staying here and still had a blast. Plenty of games , puzzles and activities to keep you busy. Super clean. Great communication with owner. Loved the added hot tub this year. Quiet neighborhood. Beautiful view.

Great Stay

Jeff was easy to work with and made sure we had all information needed. The house and beach were perfect for a family, all were clean. Tons of water toys like a paddle boat for example. The house overlooks the water and just relaxing on the patio is nice. If it rains, he’s got all the streaming channels inside. I look forward to returning.

Perfect WI Family rental

We've really enjoyed staying here, several times now. The house is great, well kept, with plenty of space and amenities. The lake is small, so you don't have the same safety concerns for children as you do with a larger lake. The owners seem to take a lot of pride in the home and the experience they provide. They're also very quick to respond if you need anything or have questions.

Relaxing family getaway!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lake house! Beautiful house with great amenities. Clear and detailed instructions which were very helpful and a very friendly host who was readily available for questions or issues. Would definitely recommend for families and even an adult getaway. Fishing right on the lake outside was so much fun and the kids enjoyed all the water toys. Will definitely be back for another stay!

Great family weekend getaway

Our kids came together from various places throughout the Midwest to celebrate dad's birthday, with the intent of bicycling on the beautiful Elroy-Sparta bike trail (highly recommend!). We didn't have time to enjoy the waterfront and water toys though on Sunday morning before we needed to leave, spent time on the deck and on the beach in the sun, enjoying the quiet unique waterfront. We think it's a great place to stay with children with easy, safe access to water fun! The house served us well - great accomodations and pretty well-appointed kitchen - relaxing and fun. Thanks!

Cool location. Very clean

Very clean home. Went in winter and we were able to enjoy the iced over lake. Owner even had ice skates for us to borrow. Very fast/good communication whole time. Too bad all the neighboring lots sold ; tempting to purchase one. Loved all the board games/puzzles and activities for kids to enjoy too.

Wonderful New Years

We had a great time here over new years. The house was great and had everything we needed. The location couldn’t be beat and we were even able to ice skate on the lake with the skates Jeff provided. Perfect for Families!

We spent a long weekend with family (4 adults and 2 kids - 3 yrs & 6 yrs) and had a wonderful time! The house was super clean with plenty of space for everyone. The beds were comfy and the house had all the amenities you could think of. Communicate with the owner was top notch. Our whole family enjoyed the kayaks, SUPs, peddleboat, and the fire pit on the deck. The kids loved playing with the sand toys, as well as, all of the games and toys inside. We can't wait to visit again! P.S. We tried the Dirty Turtle for dinner one night. The food and drinks were great, but the service was REALLY slow.
