Waren in der Vorweihnachtszeit über das Wochenende dort kennen einige Hotels dieser Art, dieses war bisher das beste Zimmer top bar im EG und in der Lounge sowie eine Bar im 18. Stock. Wie alles geraten NY nicht günstig für Europäer aber alles von guter Qualität wir würden wiederkommen

Very nice Rooms and hotel in general. The staff was also friendly. What put off my whole experience was the hidden fees, when you check out they charge you 35 dollars access fees per day!!!!! These fees are for accessing the Gym and Rooftop bar. Unacceptable ! You are not told ahead. I did not use the Gym, but went to the rooftop once, it is mediocre by New York standards. Given the fact that we stayed for 6 nights, including the access fees and tipp I payed 290 dollars for 2 Gin tonics served in a plastic cup.... Its a real shame but I can not recommend this property

Ein sehr gepflegtes und tolles Hotel! Würde es jederzeit wieder buchen. Wir haben uns hier rundum wohl gefühlt. Der Raumduft im Hotel ist Wahnsinn - man fühlt sich direkt willkommen. Durchdachtes Konzept von der Lobby, über die Zimmer bis auf die Rooftop-bar! Die Zimmer sind ausreichend groß, wunderschön eingerichtet und sehr praktisch. Man findet alles, was man bei einem Aufenthalt braucht. Den Check-In und Check-Out empfand ich als äußerst angenehm - obwohl man den Eindruck haben könnte, dass alles etwas anonymer durch den Self-Check-In ist, steht immer Personal bereit und heißt einen Willkommen und verabschiedet sich. Unbedingt auch die Bar ausprobieren! Wir kommen wieder! :-)

Well, rooftop of course amazing view, but closed during the day!!! Not clear why. At the evening either over crowded, a place at a table starts at 400$ and for guests of the hotel free between 5 and 6 pm. At the time of booking in February, Public offered free bikes. A decision maker for us. At arrival in July no bikes at all. Finally, a hipster place. People lying in huge loungechairs like at home, starring into monitors. Staff wonderful, supportive in any way. Fabulous. We never will go there s second time.

Cooles Design - Service so lala
Cooles Hotel an guter Lage. Leider war der Check-In nicht berauschend. Upgrade wurde verweigert rsp. laut « Mann » an der Rezeption gäbe es dieses nur mit Zuzahlung. Ich hatte online gesehen, dass es in einer höheren Kategorie, für unseren gesamten Aufenthalt, noch freie Zimmer gab. Mit meinem « Gold-Status » wär ein solches Upgrade eigentlich kostenlos. Als ich den Rezeptionist darauf hinwies, flippte er doch etwas aus und vergriff sich im Ton. Ich verlangte daraufhin den Manager. Einen solchen gäbe es nicht und er hätte nur freie Zimmer in der Kategorie, die ich gebucht habe.So nach dem Moto: Friss oder stirb. Ich ließ mich weder aus der Ruhe bringen, noch damit abspeisen, sondern verlangte stoisch, dass mein Checkin von einer anderen Person übernommen werde. Erst als seine Kollegin einsprang, ging es in einem freundlichen Umgangston und siehe da, auch das (kostenlose) Upgrade war nun möglich. Generell: Das PUBLIC ist ein gestyltes Hotel, auch die Lage ist gut - aber das Personal schien etwas dauer unfreundlich/genervt und überbelastet, sodass dieses Hotel, trotz der coolen Stylings, dich etwas weit abgeschlagen, das Schlusslicht unserer NY Reise bildet. Schade.

Leider wurde der doppelte Gesamtbetrag für 6 Nächte auf unseren Kreditkarten gesichert. Angeblich konnte der Vorgang nicht rückgängig gemacht werden und wir hatten somit knappe 2.000 USD weniger zur Verfügung als geplant und zusätzlich viel unserer kostbaren Reisezeit verloren - sehr ärgerlich! Das Hotelpersonal hatte dafür kein Verständnis. Die Zimmer sind schön und hochwertig eingerichtet. Allerdings so sehr staubig, dass sogar Nicht-Allergiker Atemprobleme bekommen. Generell wirkt die gesamte Hotelausstattung sehr hochwertig und geschmackvoll. Alle anderen Bereiche waren sauber und gepflegt.

Fantastic hotel with great bars and restaurant
We had a fantastic stay at PUBLIC. If you like boutique hotels, PUBLIC should definitely be among your top choices for stays in NYC. Check-in went smoothly. This was done entirely through a tablet computer but some PUBLIC staff was there to assist us. On our first night, we had some difficulties opening and closing our bathroom door. As a result, staff at the reception upgraded us free of charge and took our complaint seriously. The (upgraded) room was fantastic. We had a nice view of the city skyline that was exceptionally beautiful in the mornings. We also thought that the room design made intelligent use of the space available. I was particularly concerned about this after seeing some initial reviews ahead of our stay, but I personally did not think the room was too small. The highlight of the hotel for us were the bars and the restaurant. The Roof has a great view of the skyline at night with awesome cocktails, while the Peruvian-inspired restaurant Popular could easily be a Michelin-starred restaurant. The ceviches are out of this world. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back when we are back in NYC.

Die Zimmer waren neu renoviert und sauber. Das Hotel liegt zentral in Manhattan. In unmittelbarer Nähe befinden sich drei Metro Stationen. Es besitzt eine tolle Rooftop Bar mit herrlicher Aussicht. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Allerdings mussten wir zum Pauschalreisepreis pro Nacht nochhmal 22 $ bezüglich Sicherheit und Service zuzahlen.

I lived in NYC for 5 years and travel to this wonderful city 4-6x a year. This has been the best hotel I've stayed at for so many reasons. Location!!! A couple of blocks away from SoHo, Bowery, LES and Nolita. Shopping, restaurants, bars, parks, bodegas, grocery stores were literally steps away. Amazing lounge bar, great restaurant, beautiful rooftop view, lockers for your luggage, clean and decent size rooms, great Customer Service. Anything Ian Schrager touches is pure gold.⭐️

I had amazing stay. It was so peaceful and relaxing even though you’re in a beautiful location in the city right next to chinatown and a walk away from the Brooklyn bridge! I definitely will be back. They even have free yoga in the sky!! Room service was super responsive even though I had them heat up my leftovers quite a few times🤗.

Initially we had booked a King room. This was not very good and I would not recommend it as it was too small. We upgraded to a loft room (at a cost US$200/night) which was an excellent room and we were very pleased with spending the extra money. The roof top bar is one of the best in Manhattan and great for a sunset view. There are a couple of other bars and also good places to eat in the hotel. We didn't really like the glass walls in the bathroom which meant you could see people on the toilet at night if the light was on in the toilet
