We rented this property for the long Memorial Day weekend for our young adult children, their significant others, and our parents (9 of us in total). We hadn’t been to Newry previously and found that there was plenty to do locally for a 4 day stay. The weather was rainy for the first two days and there was plenty to do in the house itself for us to still enjoy our time. The game room, jacuzzi, and bar area created a lot of fun family time. The house was spacious enough that all could have their own space. The kitchen was well supplied with cookware. The house was outfitted with awesome speakers, and the furniture, pillows and heavy blankets were incredibly comfortable. Lots of nature and cool breweries locally. Overall, fantastic stay!

The house was AMAZING! Had a wonderful time We had a pretty big group and the house was comfortable enough for all of us including kids and a dog. Did not feel crowded at all. Hosts were wonderful, very accommodating with late check out and asking if we need anything. The views from the house are spectacular, you dont need to go out at all honestly, you would have a good time just enjoying the house amenities and the views, def worth the drive from NY

We had a brilliant stay at the mansion. The views are gorgeous and the garden is supernice to play games in which are all there (croquet, cornhole etc). Inside the house is very well done and when with a bigger group everyone can still do their own thing. Play games and watch tv downstairs, use the living room and kitchen on the first floor and sleep and relax on the second floor. Can absolutely recommend

The Mansion Home is exceptional - from the privacy, the beautiful surroundings, the birch trees and the layout of the home - I have nothing but great things to say about this rental - we felt like we were home - we celebrated our 25th Anniversary with our children and had the best time. The house was fantastic for hosting a weekend get together with cooking, fires, lawn games, and plenty of indoor entertainment. The kitchen is incredibly well outfitted with a large variety of high quality cookware including a large cast iron collection, plenty of pots and pans, and a few heavy ceramic pots which worked great for a slow cooking some pork. The property is maintained incredibly well and it was a pleasure spending time outside or inside during our stay. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a house that can be the focus of weekend, as well as anyone going up to newry for the mountains and nature. The hosts were very communicative and provided everything we needed and requests ahead of our stay. No complaints whatsoever, would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was a truly beautiful property even more amazing upon arrival. We drove 6 hrs to get there when we arrived we were a 1/2 or so early. Kirk the property manager and his crew were finishing off there preparation for our stay. He informed us a nearby lake to visit and an great restaurant called Ebinezers. I’m not sure if we were supposed but my daughters paddle-boarded the pond and had a blast. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to rent a mansion. Its well worth it

My family vacations every year with 2 other families - six adults + 6 kids (ages 9-16) - and this house fit all of us very comfortably. The house was beautiful and well maintained, was a short drive to great hikes and swimming holes, and communications with the owner/manager were quick and easy. Two minor negatives - the WiFi signal was pretty weak and did not cover the entire house. Also, there were no air conditioning units in the upstairs bedrooms so it got pretty warm up there at night. All things considered, it was a great place and I would highly recommend it to others looking for a place to stay.

I’ve rented literally dozens of homes in Maine from HomeAway. I like to say I live like a pauper and vacation like a king. This home truly is a castle. From the turret to the thrones (super comfortable chairs in formal living rooom (there are three), I was amazed at the grandeur and design that went into this home. But design and grandeur is not enough to earn a 5 star rating from me. Those important elements were followed up with top notch property management (Erin was the best - she was there for a few things that can come up when renting a home and gave me her text so I could contact her for any of my or my guests needs at any time - she went above and beyond). As well as cleanest, most well cared for home I’ve ever stayed in. Take all of that and drop it into the most beautiful setting this side of the Mississippi and you’ve got Solitude. Incredible…

This house was amazing. The owners were extremely accommodating and house had everything you need to unwind and relax. Hot tub, steam shower, and an amazing view of Sunday River. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back.
