We were impressed with how quiet the location is. We decided to try a house instead of a resort and it paid off. With two active teens, we did plenty of excursions but they really loved "chillin" on the porch. The breeze is constant and its always pleasant. The Seaweed and rocks at the beach are a bit of an obstacle, but we still snorkled a ton and saw some great things! if you aren't a morning person, you are missing out on INCREDIBLE sunrises! Overall, a great family getaway. Pack masks and fins!
An Unforgettable Stay at So Serene â Grand Cayman Perfection!Staying at So Serene felt like stepping into a dream. The home itself is stunningâimmaculately appointed with every detail thoughtfully curated, yet it still feels warm and welcoming, as if a dear friend handed you the keys to their luxurious island retreat. The views are nothing short of breathtaking. Whether you're enjoying your morning coffee or watching the sunset, the endless horizon and turquoise waters leave you in awe. And the snorkeling? Incredible. Just steps from the back door, we encountered lionfish, barracuda, lobster, stingray and a colorful array of marine life that made every swim feel like an adventure. The Kayaks made getting closer to the reef a breeze. This is more than just a vacation rental - So Serene is a true slice of paradise!
The layout of So Serene is perfect for couples traveling together. It is a beautiful home with everything you need for your stay. We enjoy being away from the touristy areas to experience all that our destination has to offer, without crowds. So Serene did not disappoint. The home is perfectly located in a quiet area, but not too far from East End restaurants and Rum Point. We all brought our own snorkel gear. We checked in, dropped our bags, put on our suits and hit the water. We snorkeled right out the back door multiple times during our stay and snorkeled along the gentle current over to Rum Point several times. It's close enough to walk back. We did travel to the West side on a couple of days that ships weren't in and it was less than an hour drive. Everyone on the So Serene team was a delight to work with. We would all stay here again in a heartbeat.
So Serene is just what it looks like, and is a true gem! We were two families (4 5) with kids between 10 and 16. The hot tub was used quite a bit, and is an amazing place to relax after whatever activity you choose during the day. There is a reef right off the house that is a drift-snorkel that we explored all week. The house is on the windward side, so there can be chop unsuitable for any non-strong swimmers to get out past the sea grass to the reef.Rum point is a beautiful and quiet area away from the crowds. Make sure to book your tours from Rum Point to avoid a drive around the island. Trips we loved:- Cristal Caves- Swimming in Bioluminescent Bay- Swimming with the Stingrays - Kite Sailing (note: It's 1 hr drive to Barker Beach)- Cemetery beach Snorkeling in calmer waters than off the property. The management of this property is top notch and they responded (and resolved) right away to our requests for additional bedding and issues with the hot tub.6 Stars.
A beautiful home in a peaceful, tranquil part of a stunning island. My family and I - my wife, my brother and sister-in-law and 2 kids had a lovely stay at "So Serene". The house was large and perfect for this amount of people - plenty of beds and lots of room to spread out. The views from the home over the Ocean are spectacular - visible from every window and so calming. Likewise, the beach that the home backs up to was so quiet and peaceful. It was lovely to sit on the beach chairs at the end of the day and just listen to the Ocean. The location was the perfect balance between being away from the hustle and bustle of Georgetown while still having easy access to all the necessities - groceries etc and some great restaurants. Definitely one of my favorite places to stay to date. We're already planning our return trip!
This is a beautiful villa in an ideal location, on the quiet north shore of Grand Cayman within easy walking distance to the Rum Point Beach Club. The size and layout of the house was perfect for our family of 5, with the children getting their own suites with adjoining bathrooms. The house was clean and the accommodations were very comfortable. And we loved the view!Check-in process went smoothly and we had no trouble communicating with the caretaker for whatever little questions came up. Highly recommended!
The villa is very comfortable, clean and well stocked. It is located in the very quiet and secluded neighborhood, away from 7 mile crowds and traffic. We had a slight issue with the air conditioning in the main area, and it was resolved within an hour of calling the property manager. Roy was great and very helpful. We have thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, the sunroom and main area. Our only suggestion would be to update the mattress in the master bedroom. The old mattress is not very comfortable.
Location is fantastic if you like to snorkel. Home is close to Rum Point and an easy walk down the beach. We had a good bit of rain (early June stay) but were told by the locals that it was unusually rainy. Be sure to try Tukka and Check In restaurants.
Home was beautiful and perfect in every way. Owners were very responsive to requests for info and everything was ready when we got there. Stay couldnât have been better! Thanks for helping to make this a wonderful experience!
We visited for New Yearâs holiday and had a wonderful time. The home was even better than we expected. It has a wonderful beach and plenty of room. We were a family of four with two teenagers, and the layout for us was perfect. We really enjoyed the proximity to Rum Point and Kaibo. It was a beautiful home and we hope to stay there again.
North side / Rum Point location was exactly what we were looking for, very peaceful, beautiful views and out-the-back-door access to the beach and great snorkeling. Centrally located to lots of activities. Many boat charters pick up nearby at Kaibo which was very convenient.
House was clean, sizable for our family of six, but cozy at the same time. My wife absolutely loved the master suite vibe. Soft/comfortable beds. Kids loved the place and access to the beach.
Owners were extremely responsive, and were incredibly helpful / flexible when we had airline issues impacting our arrival / departure.
Bring your own shampoo/soap, etc
The house is clean and comfortable. Tons of books to enjoy.
The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and dining in. The property manager was very responsive. The only possible downside is how far it is from most restaurants, but we just stayed in!
This is a great location away from the bustle of 7 mile beach. It's a very spacious house, lots of area for the 3 bedrooms, so you can have your extended friends and family with you and not feel crowded. The house is well equipped and has everything we needed for our stay. If you are looking for a luxurious property away from all the tourist traffic, this one is a great choice.
