The room and hotel were fine (except for the dismal shower pressure that many of the guests were commenting on) but the daytime desk staff were terrible. After an early morning departure, I discovered they had charged an additional $131 to my credit card, requested by them to cover incidentals. We had no incidental charges, and I had pre-paid for the room through Expedia. The desk staff claimed Expedia had a problem sending the Hampton our payment, so they were charging my card (not the price of the room, btw, which was actually about $70 higher than the duplicate charge) until I resolved it with Expedia. When I said the hotel needed to work that out with Expedia, they said they had no phone number to call them for resolution. It took several days and a negative comment on my Expedia account to resolve the overage charged by the hotel. NOT a great way to do business, Hampton. Will think twice before staying there again.
