This trip with my husband, son and his girlfriend, was a great ski vacation. Please read exact description of the room layout. We did fine, but there may be some groups that wouldnât tolerate the bathroom situation. Location for skiing was greatâski out/in. Easy walk to base if that was easier for apres ski. Parking pretty tight, especially our last couple days when we had an epic snow dump. There is extra parking down the road, not too far. Hot tub was perfect and had a view of some of the slopes and gondola. Beds very comfy. Overall an eclectic rustic cabin that made a great home for our vacation week.
Overall we loved this property because of the location and the wonderful hot tub on the patio. It is truly ski in/ski out from the run "Sunnyside". You can walk to the little village in about 5 minutes to a good number of delicious restaurants. The bedroom situation is misleading. There are no true bedrooms and the two floor setup is almost like a snowy tree house. The very top floor is where you park & there is steep stairs to get to the main floor.Main floor no privacy for the pull out couch bed (that was so uncomfortable no one would sleep on it and opted for the couch downstairs instead). This floor has the kitchen, queen bed, patio access, and 1 bathroom. There are only curtains so no privacy. The bottom floor has an "office" but the WiFi does not work down stairs so it is useless. Laundry area is odd but well stocked. Again lots of stairs to get to this floor. It is like a living room with a queen bed and a lofted twin bed all in one big area. No privacy. The two floors are separated by a loud clicking sliding door so if you need to use the restroom at night everyone in the whole place will hear you go upstairs even if you tiptoe.Location is great as long as you do not require any privacy. I would not recommend this unless you are okay with that and lots!! of stairs. We felt misled by the wifi, beds and the TV downstairs only worked 50% of the time (WiFi). Location was killer just know what you are signing up for. There are no true bedrooms.
Good: The location is convenient. You have to walk up a hill for a few minutes to get to the mountain. A unique, quirky space with a well-stocked kitchen. Bad:Ants. There were a large number of ants in the family room and kitchen space. When I texted the owner about this at 8 AM in the morning, they offered someone to come out to clean up the ants. Upon returning from skiing at 4 PM, no one had arrived. Eventually someone did come out that evening while we were away, but the ants remained. The ants got into our food and we had to throw away a large portion of our groceries. When I shared this with the owner, they apologized but did not offer any reimbursement.Steps â Immediately upon entering the unit, you have to go down two flights of stairs. This is tough when hauling in groceries, luggage and ski gear. Fine for us, but something to be aware of.Ice â The parking spot for the unit is directly under a roof that drips water and it freezes. Even knowing the ice was there, I still slid and fell on my back. REALLY slick and nearly impossible to safely navigate.Overall, this was the worst VRBO rental experience we have had. To make matters worse, the owners did not seem to care to resolve. I would not recommend staying here.
