First the good: the penthouse was beautiful. Very clean, spacious and conveniently located. Our stay would have been great, except for the following: when we arrived, we were not given the correct code for the door which left us outside in the Florida heat trying to figure it out, then having to contact Vacasa to get the correct code. After accessing the unit, we realized we were not given a QR code be able to enter community so we had to wait in line to enter the gate every time we returned. None of the outlets in any of the 3 bathrooms worked and it was not a tripped circuit breaker issue. On our 1st night there, I left my teenaged daughters at the apartment to pick my sister up at the airport, a loud alarm went off at around 12:30 am that they said sounded like the a smoke detector alarm leaving them terrified. The alarm lasted around 3 minutes and we do not know what the noise was, but luckily I was just pulling into the parking spot after it happened so I was there to calm them down. We opted to pay for the late check out of 2:00 PM and we went out to get breakfast, but upon our return at 11:30 am, we found we were locked out and again had to contact Vacasa and sit outside the apartment in the Florida heat for another 20 mins to be given another code for entry. A minor inconvenience: no coffee filters. I would encouraged communication such as a phone number with the owner of the unit or someone that would have been on hand which would have been helpful.

Family staple

We absolutely loved this home! Plan on snagging this every time we visit. Our previous stay was with Vacasa as well but a larger home, still located in Storey lake. We will now rent one or the other depending on availability. Sooo happy with our stay!!

Spring Break 25

This is our 12 stay at Storey Lake. Accommodations were excellent. House was as advertised. Ran into a small issue with smoke alarm beeping the 1st night which was beyond annoying. Called the 24 hour service line number and the battery was replaced at 4pm the next day. Overall another great stay at Storey Lake!

Hard to enter

Well first, no mention that it was a gated community. My name not on the list to enter. Security guard gave me a # to call and it was the owner. No help. Called Vacasa finally spoke to someone and got an email and text with the gate QR code. Got to the condo and access code would not work. Was given a 4 digit code and the lock took a 10 digit code. Called Vacasa again and got the correct code texted to me. 10 digits a pain to try and remember had to find on phone every time. Condo was clean and nice. Good location. If you drive out the back gate the QR code will not let you back in that gate. Had to drive around. Tv no local Chanels had to jump through hoops to stream the superbowl. Bring guest in is a pain and have to fill out forms. The condo was well stocked. Was told just before arrival that the washing machine was not working. Threw clothes in the dryers to get wrinkles out and it would only run a minute at a time. The ice maker in the fridge did not work had to go buy a bag of ice. Location was good and area nice but access and the little things, I was ready to leave.

Perfect location

Great location for the parks and shops very close by. On site pool/bar also a real bonus. Only issue was that we were supplied the wrong access code for entrance, which caused some distress after a 9 hour flight and at after 8pm in the evening. It was resolved within the hour, but still frustrating.

Check in Process was difficult

When we arrived at the community gate they had no record of our stay which made it difficult to initially enter the community. We then arrived at the door of the property and the lock code was not as listed in communications from the property manager. It required a 10-digit code rather than a 4-digit code, which was provided. We had to call VACASA support at midnight to obtain the accurate code. Overall, the property was clean and new, but definitely not lived in. No basic supplies such as coffee filters, nonstick spray, etc. to be able to cook with. We had to purchase many of these items.

Great, but with caveats

First off, the lock on the property is extremely confusing. They had to write instructions and tape on the door, but the instructions were wrong. It took us 30 minutes just to get the door open the first time, and subsequent times were a roll of the dice whether we were able to open the door or not. The property was cleaned very well, but when we got it there was a 4 inch cockroach dead in the toilet, and another dead behind a door. Better dead then alive I guess, maybe nobody had stayed there in a while. For the week we stayed there we did not see any more cockroaches. Excellent location, both close to the pools and to Disney, just be aware of all the tolls you'll go through. Kitchen was very sparsely outfitted. Could use more cooking utensils, cookware, plates bowls etc. Overall, I would return only if they changed the lock on the door.

Comfort!

We loved our stay at Storey Lake and wish it could have lasted longer. The condo was much more spacious than the pictures showed. My word choice was comfort. The beds were so comfortable, the couch was so comfortable, the space itself was so comfortable. We had plenty of room to spread out and not feel cramped. The sunrise views from the porches were amazing. There was a short walk to one pool right across the road and short drive to the lazy river area. Both were clean and relaxing. I would book here again without hesitation! It was so nice having this space to relax at after long days of volleyball tournaments and Universal Studios. The only issue we had and I suspected we would based on previous reviews was the code to get it didn’t match the code we received. We got a 4 digit code for the door and it required a 10 digit code to access the property. It was Sunday evening checking it so it took about 10-15 minutes to get in touch with the property managers to get to correct code. As many times as it was reported on the Vacasa site that the code didn’t work this should have already been fixed prior. This may be a property management issue and not owner issue but it’s a repeated problem that should be addressed.

Penthouse condo

We had a great stay. The property was clean and inviting. The elevator made it simple to get food and luggage to the unit. Parking was right in front of the unit. All the things you needed to cook meals and have a memorable experience was right there. Pool was directly across the street but the main pool with water slides is a little longer walk but easy to do. We recommend this for any family as it is near all the parks.

Florida Work From Home Trip

Had a wonderful stay. The property was close to all major attractions and shopping. We enjoyed both pools at the resort. We worked from this location and the WIFI worked well for us. Will use this property again.

Nice Unit, rest of facility is just OK.

We had some trouble getting in and took a while to resolve, but OK after that. Unit was nice and clean as advertised. Was not able to recycle, so that was confusing. The pool was nice, they have bar service, a bit crowded, parking was difficult at busy times. The second pool that is closer to this unit needed a hot tub or something for kids to be usable for most families. Music at pool is too loud, not tropical themed and the speakers a distorted. I did not get a relaxed vibe, but more of a Party feel, which was fun at times. Pick up games of volleyball and basketball. Food was decent around the pool.
