They charge now for parking £7 EVERY NIGHT - how ridiculous is that. It is a field in a village. Won’t be staying again - what a cheap way to rip off customers.

Hi Mark, Thank you for leaving this feedback. We implemented the parking charge following our updates to our car park security system, and also to support our hotels green initiatives to reduce our impact on the environment. We were one of the last hotels in Oxford to implement a parking charge, as all other hotels regarless of their location also charge anywhere from 5 to 30 per night for parking. I hope that you did enjoy your stay apart from this, and if you do change your mind and would like to stay again, please note that you are able to book a package which has the parking included so you will not have to pay for this on arrival.

leider schmutzige handtücher, das zimmer erweckt den eindruck als sei man im keller, die fenster können nur wenig geöffnet werden. Lobby und Rezeption sind sehr schön, Umgebung des Hotels auch (ruhige Lage) aber aufgrund der Zimmer würden wir das Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen.

Hi Marko, I'm sorry to hear that the room you stayed in was not the best. All of our laundry is done off site, but our housekeeping team do replace all towels and sheets between each guest and they make an effort to check each piece before putting them in the rooms however sometimes there are stains that unfortunately get missed. If you let our team know however, they will always be happy to bring you a fresh set. Our windows do only open part way for security and safety reasons, however we can sometimes open them further if you ask us. I'm glad that you enjoyed the rest of the buildings other than the rooms, and I thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback.

freundlicher Empfang, mit hausgemachter Leckerei, schönes ruhiges Zimmer, tolles Bett: Der Pool ist auch in Ordnung, leider war die Dampfsauna nicht in Betrieb. Frühstück hatte gute Qualität. Es könnte etwas nachhaltiger gearbeitet werden. Im Spabereich gab es jede Menge Einwegplastikbecher. Ansonsten alles sehr schön und erholsam, werde wiederkommen, wenn sich die Möglichkeit ergibt.

Kurztrip mit Stil
Wir hatten und das De Vere Oxford Thames ausgesucht, um über 6 Tage Oxford und die Cotswolds zu erkunden und tatsächlich die perfekte Wahl getroffen. Trotz des herrlichen Wetters haben wir uns jeden Tag wieder darauf gefreut ins Hotel zurück zu kommen und den Abend in der Hotelhalle in phantastischer Atmosphäre am Kamin ausklingen zu lassen. Für Regentage hätte es im Hotel ein Schwimmbad gegeben. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und das Essen außergewöhnlich gut. Parkplätze waren immer ausreichend vorhanden und für den Besuch in Oxford konnten wir kostenlos den Parkplatz des zentraler gelegenen De Vere Oxford Spires nutzen.

Das Hotel ist für englische Hotellerie sehr gut. Da die Bauweise dort hellhörig ist, kann es laut werden. Wir baten um ein anderes Zimmer, weil wir zuerst ein sehr lautes Zimmer bekamen. Uns wurde schnell und unkompliziert geholfen. Auch mit dem Parkplatz, bei dem Schwester Hotel. Zimmer waren sauber, schöner Garten.

Wunderschön gelegenes Hotel.
Ein wunderschönes Hotel mit eigenem Flair, bedingt durch den teilweise historischen Bau. Ein wunderschöner Park, direkt am Fluß. Das Service war hervorragend. Im Saunabereich wäre ein Saunakübel und eine Schöpfkelle sinvoll, offenbar verlorengegangen, dies ist aber nur eine ganz kleine Kleinigkeit. Summa summarum, ein Hotel zum Wiederkommen.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Room was very spacious and well decorated, breakfast was delicious and the staff were ever so attentive! And the hotel offered us some delicious honeycomb made from their own honey!

Really comfy bed, great breakfast. Probably the only thing I could say is it was very cold in the main Reception/Hall area. Such a lovely seating area but too cold to stay sat there for more than one drink.

Very Disappointing
A really very disappointing experience for our stay at Oxford VOCO Thames , we made our reservation through hotel.com, the room type that we booked is "Premium Room, 1 King Bed, River View". When we checked in, we were told that there are no room with river view were available. The hotel should have better management to ensure the room type that we paid for is available when we arrive ! This was a really bad experience.

Unfortunately I believe that the confusion was due to a misleading photo online as we did have you still in a premium king room with the view of the river, and this is an issue which we are looking into now. Lovely Oxford Stay
What a great stay - Every single member of staff we met was friendly, polite & helpful. The hotel is a fantastic building, in a lovely quiet setting next to the river but with very easy access to the city and surrounding attractions. Breakfast service was well organised with a good choice of hot & cold food.

Lovely hotel but garden rooms have thin walls
Overall we had a nice stay. We had 2 nights. Saturday & Sunday. Our 3 course meal in the Napier restaurant was excellent!! Our first night was in a garden room. The room was nice. Bed and bedding all very clean & comfy. However these rooms have extremely thin walls. We were kept awake all night because the neighbours both sides were noisy. One side was even talking loudly on his phone at 4am. We did complain to management and they dealt with it swiftly. But our nights sleep had been ruined and my husband had to be up and out at 8am for an appointment. We were seriously considering cancelling our 2nd nights stay and going home early. However the excellent staff rallied around. A customer service manager called Claire approached us at breakfast and apologised profusely for the rough night. She arranged for us to move to a room which was larger and had proper walls! It was in the Church wing. A really lovely room, and yes it was quiet. So we stayed for our second night and had a better sleep. The breakfast on both mornings was excellent. The staff were excellent. Especially Claire! The bar food was also really good if a bit pricey. So I would recommend this hotel but if you value your sleep then don’t choose a garden room. Also a special thank you to Akisha in the restaurant who helped me with a query when I rang after our stay. She was extremely helpful.

The hotel and staff was very nice. Wish they had a jacuzzi too. The carpets in the room we stayed in the garden section could with a wash. Otherwise it was all so clean and lovely. Loved it that a bus goes into Oxford and back from just outside the hotel gate. Thank you for looking after us.

Attention to room details required
Room run down. Main light didn't work, TV kept turning off, shower head wouldn't stay up and extractor fan didn't work. We ordered room service from the phone in the room and were hung up on. We told the receptionist the above who just replied "thank you for letting us know" no apilogies. The reception building and the bar was beautiful. Was disappointed no jacuzzi in the "spa" google pictures and reviews show one. The hotel has a lot of potential but more attention to detail is definitely required.

It is a beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting. Generally the staff was very helpful except some British friends of ours were trying to get in touch with us and left three messages with the reception staff. We like the garden room at the Voco which is in a separate secure area, and insulated from functions taking place, such as weddings! The new parking scheme is a bit awkward (£8/day), says have to register in 10 minutes which isn't possible with a desk queue. Our key cards stopped working after 1 day. Overall, we will return.

Couldn't fault the staff,the food, the room with a very comfy bed. Only downside was we stopped on a Saturday night when a wedding reception was on. Quite a bit of noise and people outside in the early hours.
