600 hundred steps to the caves but every twist and turn has a great photo opportunity, a must see when in Alghero. Drive there, itâs the only way to use the steps, if you go by boat it takes you straight into caves and you wonât see the steps.

This Cave is set in Capo Caccia, a tall promontory with a military lighthouse; it's smaller than other sardinian caves, but quite scenic and very famous . If you have good legs you can reach it by going down the 600 and some more steps of "the Roebuck stairs".It follows the rocky contour of Capo Caccia ,offering a beautiful view on the sea, but remember that there is a way up too.. ;) Or you can hop on a boat, and it will be cheaper if you do so from Cala Dragunera, rather than from Alghero..
Crystal clear sea at Lazzaretto beach near Alghero, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Alghero is a gem of a town in Sardinia, surrounded by beautiful nature: sandy beaches, coves and pine forests.. We went there at the end of September and the weather was warm enough to swim, without the crowds. The sun was not scorching, so it was doable to rent bikes and cycle along the hilly but tranquil roads overlooking the sea. The views were gorgeous, especially going North of Alghero up to Capo Caccia (about 25 km). #beach #bicycle
Just outside Alghero/Sardinia one can find this beautiful spot located at the Parco Naturale Porto Conte overlooking Baia delle Ninfe.
