A three-floor Craftsman that works as one big house or two households under one roof, which is the trick for a family reunion.

Basement level: two queen bedrooms, a full bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room with the sofa bed. Its own little world.

Main floor: one queen bedroom, the second full bathroom, the main kitchen with the washer and dryer, a dining area, and a living room with leather couches.

Top floor: two queen bedrooms, a flight up from the nearest bathroom.

Central heating and AC from a thermostat in the dining room. Original woodwork throughout, with the creaks of a house its age.

The whole house is yours. The lockbox is on the right side of the front door, inside the screen door, and the code comes by message before arrival. Bags can be dropped from noon.

Check-in is self-guided, so you can arrive on your own schedule. I'm a message away whenever you need anything during your stay.

Foster-Powell is a neighborhood of old houses where Foster Road, three minutes away, holds the cafes, bars and food carts. Creston Park, with its pool, playground and tall firs, is 12 minutes on foot. Woodstock's restaurants are a 10-minute drive, Division and Hawthorne about the same. Bus stops are close, and downtown is 16 minutes by car.

The driveway plus free, unrestricted street parking in front. Stop at the parking blocks in the driveway.

Buses on Powell and Foster run downtown in about 25 minutes. Driving, downtown is 16 minutes and PDX airport about 20 via I-205.

The top-floor bedrooms are a flight up from the nearest bathroom. Towels are provided, washcloths aren't.

The neighbors know us. A party gets reported, shut down, and the reservation ends.
